When Superleague merged with the then ARL/NRL in 1998
leading to the Adelaide Rams & Western Reds demise at the end of that season...
Seeing the writing on the wall at that time.
My care factor for the code took a backseat, I still went to most of the games
but only to watch the non Superleague teams play in this city.
ie. Balmain Tigers, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles etc. plus the new kids Melbourne Storm.
(Parramatta didn't play a match here in Adelaide)
Bitter for a while, my support of the Eels which has been there since the glory days of
Price, Cronin & Sterling was only rekindled in recent years!
So pardon my ignorance!
