Casey Stoner had his maiden MotoGP win in Qatar tonight (our time). It's great to see a Aussie back on the podium in GP's.

Amazing!

He wont win the championship, but a great start.

And good to see his new (South Aussie) Missus holding the umbrella. direct out of high school...



I think it may have been the late great Bazza who said something along the lines of

"I don't mind a rider who is fast and falls off a lot, as long as they are fast and learn to stop falling off.

Someone who is slow, on the other hand...."
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

That was some race.

Especially the last couple of laps when Rossi threw everything at him.

Its good to see a whole bunch of Aussies doing so well in motorsport this year. Mark Webber finally had a car that got him to the flag and he finished 3rd, Vermuelan, whoever you spell his name, is a lot higher up the championship standings that would be expected of him, Casey should win the championship, and Will Power is a good chance of ending Sebastian Bourdais 3 year winning streak in the CART World Series.

Amazing that he has the title stitched up at 21 (Rossi or Doohan couldnt do that)

Has a massive future, i think we can expect a few more seasons like this as well.

Impressive effort.

I can't believe he's only 21 - it feels like I've been hearing his name for years in other forms of bike racing.

you can save yourself some face by claiming that Rossi didn't win the top class of racing @ 21 he only won 1 125cc and 1 250cc by 21 years of age
