Pretty much a blanket ban by pubs across Sydney.

My mates at the fight won't answer their mobiles!

Any updates?

Anyone?

Mundine KO in the 9th round.

New WBA Super Middleweight Champion of the World!!!

Haven't seen a round yet but...

To KO someone who went 12 rounds with Winky Wright is more than impressive.

It's scary.

Only saw the news highlights this morning, but looked as though Mundine landed a beauty early which Soliman never really recovered from.

Solimon lost it at the weigh in with that little nervous laugh when they went face to face...you could see it in Mundines eyes that he owned him then and there.

I thought Mundine fought a great fight. Soliman is as tuff as nails to go that long after the round two thunderbolt that nearly knocked his head off ( as Paul Briggs said " Soliman isn't back in his body yet" ).
BUT Mundine's arrogance towards Soliman after the fight was disgraceful - was a big fan but not anymore!
Its unfortunate because if he was good at the PR thing, all of Australia would be behind him not hoping he gets KO'D in his next fight.

His arrogance is really annoying, but I still like to see him win, he's a damn good boxer. The only time I hoped he got his head knocked off was when he fought Danny Green last year. His ego does turn a lot of people off though, same with Ley Ley.

Local pub refsued to show the fight after been quoted $1600 to show it.

What with staff wages and so on, the publican reakons he would've had to sell 600 beers before breaking even.

In the end, decided it wasn't worth the expense.

To make matters worse, my mate had it on Foxtel but forgot to let us know!

Anyway, have since seen a bit of the fight, and Mundine truly is 'The Man.'

Its taken a while for his potential to catch up with his mouth.

He'll be chasing a big fight next.

Rematch with Kessler?

Maybe step down to middleweight to take on Jermain Taylor or Winky Wright?

No doubt about it Mundine is an excellent boxer and a superb athlete to be able to play Rugby League at the highest level and then revert to boxing.
Still an A grade wanker though, shits me when people say "you call him that because his Aboriginal and he's Muslim".
I reply that his religion or race has nothing to do with it, he could be a Hindi eskimo for all I care but he's still a wanker.
He probably thinks he does some good for aboriginals in standing up for his race but if anything he alienates people and does more harm than good.

Wedgie, he's a prize fighter!
Part of his persona is to be antagonisic & outspoken!
Arguably the greatest boxer of all time Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali
surely pissed off a shitload of people during his illustrious career, causing his
suspension & title forfeit for refusing to go to 'Nam!
Being an integral part of the Civil Rights movement of that era.
(Though some may say he was being exploited by the Nation of Islam)
His memorable quote about fighting a 'White Man's War' was that
"No Vietnamese ever called me a n**ger!"
Agree with it or not... It's pretty strong words!
Though Mundine's allegedly inciting aboriginals in Inner Sydney's Redfern
to violence is just damned irresponsible!

There's a big difference between being antagonistic and outspoken and being a total wanker and he's found it.
The guy doesn't have anything upstairs and is content talking any shit that comes to his mouth.
And Ali was a thinker so you cant compare him to Mundine.

As I said though, the guy is an awesome athlete and a great fighter.

By all reports, the real Anthony Mundine - quiet, humble, respectful - is nothing like the motor-mouth parading about for the public.

Then again, that motor-mouth has brought back the 'Big Night Fight to Australian boxing...
