Not a game for the ages

Team that made the least mistakes won without either offense being outstanding

Very different game to a lot of other superbowls. Offenses looked slow, sloppy and inept. But looking closer each time the defense was able to make the right decision on coverage, both quarterbacks were harassed nearly every drop back and both defenses created plenty of chances for turnovers. I just think today was a game where the defenses were spectacular. On that, Denver's defense was near flawless and they deserved the win. Reckon the longer that game goes on, the further the broncos pull away.

That final turnover may be the defining moment in Cam Newton's career. Whether it's the moment that spurs him on to do whatever it takes, or lets it become a mental issue where he doubts himself in key moments will perhaps be the one thing in what could be one of the most prolific careers in NFL history.

And on prolific careers, not sure there is anyone more prolific than Peyton Manning. Doesn't have the rings he should, but got his teams deep time and time again. A bunch of records have P. Manning next to them and some might stand for a while. I hope that's the end. I love watching the greats fight on until you know they have nothing left, even if that means limping to the line and getting beaten at the end. Often it just feels like the mantle is given rather than earned. However, Manning was struggling so bad at the end it was there purely to try to hang onto the ball, create field goals and let his defense do their thing. But another year on and he might get benched for a no name rookie. Today was glorious the way he battled and fought against his failing body. Next year I think it'll be a bit pathetic. No more perfect way to end arguably the greatest NFL career of all time.

They do Thursday night football pre game and some of the games then hand other games over to CBS I believe either Fox or NBC might be getting a share of the Thursday night games next season also with the expansion into possibly Friday & Saturday night games, which will erode into the college football games. Won't they be happy. More College games are going to their own networks thru ESPN now mainly the conferences

SEC have a deal with ESPN which goes regional to affiliates except for the occasional big games that go to free to air

LSU v Alabama as an example.
