Great modern day chokers

Postby Sky Pilot » Tue Jul 24, 2012 2:51 pm

Adam Scott inexplicably missed a three foot putt on the 16th which would have tied up the Open in exotic Blackpool the other night. Other famous cores have included Greg Norman, StKilda, Collingwood, English cricket team, Boris Becker to name few. What about listing some examples of other massive failures? Even in local sport.

2007 wasn't a choke, you've got the definition of a sporting choke wrong if you think it was.

See Adam Scott British Open for your barometer.

Jana Novotna, Wimbledon final 1993
Up 4-1 in the 3rd set against Steffi Graf, she then lost the last
five games, spectacularly .
Belted balls ten feet over the baseline, netted easy volleys, double-faults,
it was a train wreck.
Fun to watch if you weren't Novotna.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

But doesn't that make womens tennis more cut-throat? In men's tennis a player gets another chance to re-group and get back into the match.

Cut throat
Just gives them less chance to make more mistakes.
Maybe if they chucked the extra $$$$ near the net, they might get off the baseline.
It really is boring $hit
