Fabian Brunnstrom getting closer to a contract each day, been very impressive so far in the pre-season. Emmerton though, also in contention for the 14th forward position, is playing well too, so it's going to be a tough call.

If Crsoby & Malkin are back fully firing they will give the stanley cup a nudge, but without them no hope

Crosby's already been ruled out of the first regular season game. I know he's on the improve but lets hope this doesn't end in a similar fashion to what happened with Scott Stevens at the Crows, be sad for a player of his calibre to have his career cut short.

You would have to say its quite worrying he hasn't gotten over the concussion fully yet.
Get super Mario back he could still play

He's been training the house down I've heard, but yet to be cleared for contact practice. Lets hope that's sooner rather than later.

Problem is he's one headache from another 3 months on the sidelines.
It's been a horrible offseason for Hockey, the KHL plane crash and multiple suicides, nevermind the concussion problems for a host of players. Hopefully concussions are hopefully starting to be addressed seriously (Shanahan is doing a much much better job in charge of suspensions/headshots, actually explaining why each suspension is given is a great change).
Have a read of this, story about Boogaard (Rangers player who died in the offseason from drugs/effects of having your head punched for a living). While I like watching fighting in the NHL, it's pretty hard to defend the staged fights from enforcers after reading this.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/magazine/2011/09/29/popplewell_boogaard/Also go canucks! one more win this year hopefully..
