The early departures from the championship winning squad must be of concern at the club. Kate Beveridge was unlucky to fall out of favour late in the season and I suspect this one will come back to bite the club.
Now, the defence is being dismantled with Mo'onia Gerrard deciding to stay in Sydney and play with the Swifts, and Geva Mentor advising the club that she will not be released by England to play in 2011.
Signing some of the young guns like Emily Beaton, Georgia Beaton and Sharni Layton must now be a huge priority for the team. Natalie Von Bertouch agreeing to terms is a great boost, but with one week until the transfer time closes, it must be getting a little nervous at ETSA Park.

Australian coach Norma Plummer has had a go at them today saying they recruit too much. VB was the only South Aussie in the main 7 in last seasons premiership side.

Pretty sure Emily Beaton is a born an bred South Aussie. If she wasn't in the main 7 then i'm not sure what she was doing being one of the best players in the Grand Final.

A big boost with Geva Mentor aiming to reverse her decision and looking to move to Adelaide permanently. If she is successful, it would depend on whether she can be deemed a local player or an import. Clubs can only have one import and already have Carla Borrego listed.

1 and 2 after 3 rounds. Very doubtful they'll make the top 4 this year. Should beat crap teams like West Coast Fever (as they did last night), Central Pulse and possibly Southern Steel and Canterbury Tactix but will struggle against the better sides.

Erin Bell, Sharni Layton and Natale Von Bertouch all named in the Australian Diamonds team. Unlucky timing for Emily Beaton's injury, she would have been a near certainty:
