Christ I forgot it was on, Magic Kiwi will kill me after telling me about it all day!
At least she'll be happy with the result though.

Honestly though, Rugby yawn.
State of Origin was so awesome on Wednesay night and puts Union to shame.

PS Don't let Magic Kiwi near me ever again, she'll kill me!!!

Hehe i have the opposite view, but as a "non rugby" person i cant argue with any conviction. To me League just has way too much tackling, but with Union there is a lot more running (and skill). Someone like Campese was a great athlete, i admired his skills, but for someone to be a good League player it seems all they need is to be big enough to smash into people. Andrew Johns is obviously an exception, but as someone who knows nothing about League (and is completely bored by it!!), i find it hard to admire him too much as a sportsman. Thats my personal opinion, i'm not saying he isn't a great Rugby League player, i'm just saying i find it hard to appreciate his skills.

Union shits me with the amount of knock ons that go unnoticed and with the extra playres on the fields, there's actually more tackling in Union when you add up the stats.
Also you can have a Union game that has the scoreline of 18-15 with not one try being scored, never happens in League.
I honestly don't think there's any comparison.
If you're happy watching penalties win games fair enough, I prefer tries which IMHO is the only reason to watch any form of Rugby.

Having said that Union is a better game to play.

Only forwards are big in League, with people like Mal Meninga perhaps being the exception.
And even then they're amazing athletes, they weight 110kg and can run 100m in 11 seconds!

Try sitting through a nil all draw in Rugby League (1982 Souths v Manly I think) yawn........

Union shits all over League....SOO is just over hyped bull shit errors errors errors then two tries and its a great game FFS!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

That's exactly my point, nil all draws (ie games without trys) occur all the time in Union, they occur once in a lifetime in League, you've backed up my argument beautifully.
