MotoGP Season 2009

After watching the most amazing race I've ever seen on Sunday night, I thought others might like to discuss! What a battle between Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi at the Circuit de Catalunya. Neither gave up with Lorenzo wanting to win his home GP, but it was Rossi who overtook Lorenzo with an awesome move up the inside on the last corner of the last lap to win his 99th race by 0.095 of a second from the Spaniard. The Italian Stallion's reaction after surely one of his greatest wins showed how much it meant to him. I can't wait to see what he has in store for his 100th victory! He has had some priceless celebrations in the past, with his mates dressing up as the 7 dwarfs and 10 pin bowling pins 2 of the more memorable ones.

The lead had changed 5 times on the last lap as the two Yamaha team mates tried to sort out who the big dog in the team was. Aussie Casey Stoner was a distant 3rd, 8.884 seconds behind, but as was revealed after the race, was quite ill for the duration and did well to hold off Dovizioso in 4th. Somehow Stoner's Ducati team mate Yank Nicky Hayden had his best result on the Ducati to finish 10th. L-) I don't think there was anything wrong with him! Just goes to show how much better Aussies are than Yanks! The only other Aussie in the field, Chris Vermeulen came in 11th. The finishing order of Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner means that all 3 are tied on 106 points for the world championship after 6 of 17 rounds! Vermeulen is in 10th place in the overall standings on 42 points. The next round is in Assen, Holland on the 27th June where the season effectively starts again. Hopefully Stoner is fully fit and can take it up to the two Yamahas.

Rossi is not only GOD on the bike, but he is also a talented man when it comes to mind power and seeing into the future!

Remember when he told Sete that he will never win another GP. Well that proved true. Poor old Sete, couldn't get over a little shoulder bump on the home turn.

But that race that you mentioned in the above post. Was SENSATIONAL.
