Posted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 7:58 pmi dont follow rugby but have been told over the past few season they allow that if a player is going for a touch down that the defending team/players can stop the try by jumping or sliding feet first towards the player trying to score? how dangerous is this?

A South Sydney player was cited for this last weekend in their loss to Parramatta.
You are right about its danger as player tended to connect with a player rather than the ball, sometimes not accidently.

the player in question was taken off on the other side of the ground for treatment and didnt know he was replaced when he came back on i believe
