Alex English would have had to have been one of the best and most underated scorers in NBA history and Kiki Vandeweghe and Kelly Tripucka were no slouches either while Isiah Thomas had his usual influence on the encounter.
This game was played during the Doug Moe era in Denver when they played an uptempo offence and a shot was usually launched within 10 seconds of taking the ball and it was a Detroit lineup that was still to learn the Chuck Daly bruising style of Basketball that would become prevalent a few years later during the 'bad boys' era.
Given the players on both sides, defense wouldn't have been the greatest priority.
