Was going to search for a new 6 weight fly rod when I was on leave in Oct, using windfall so to speak .But went into the tackle shop in the port .And well was going to laybuy it .The wife walked in and said how much is it ? Told her and she said stuff the laybuy just buy it ;D
So I am now the proud new owner of Pflueger Trion Graphite 6 weight fly rod .And she feels so light heaven comes to mind ;)
Just need the weather to improve ;)

A combo of both perhaps  or as a thank you for buying a big screen tv yesterday  and the fact I or us jointly dont normally buy stuff for ourselves but for the family .For me I always feel guilty when spending any money must be a hangover from my childhood cue an online shrink .......

Nice one mate. Any plans to take her freshwater fishing? I had a sneaky few flicks with a fly in the Wakefield river in my youth but never got the hang of it. I had to stick with the spinning gear, less classy but more productive(for me anyway). However there was a stretch of the river that was stocked with Rainbows and I could never catch them. I put it down to the clearer water in those pools but maybe I needed to persevere with the flies to trick the buggers.

Thats a big maybe but its Carp that my Dad has been telling were back in the torrens before the rain came.I wont say no to Trout its just a very long trip to find some .i have been told any stream that has water in it in the hills in Feb will hold trout so a perhaps on Trout .
Of course that may all be a no if I start catching mullies

R
Took the new stick out for a flick this morning to the Port river .The only ones enjoying the fishing were the 20 or so Port river Dolphins. And boy in the morning mist watching them feed was an awesome sight .Mind you it did nothing for my personal fishing  .
What I did learn was this rod was so much easier to cast than my old one .Sure there were one or two teething problems but they were due to operator faults than the Pflueger Rod.
And I predict this will be a very good "Bream Stick"

Cheers

Congratulations Micky,

Trying to find affordable fly equipment in Adelaide is hard enough. :( How many pieces is it? Does this store at the Port have much in the way of Flyfishing gear?

Thanks Alaska
Its only a 2 piece which I like .The reel seat is much better than on my shakespeare rod(funny shakespeare must sell them in oz looked up their webpage)
No they had 3 rods that I know of and I bought 1.A few more reels some fly material but not much .
But its a start I could have driven up grand junction rd to the next tackle shop but I am not really into that shop.I wont say anything bad
The Port one wants me to write a fishing article (only the wife knew about that  )I said I wasn't sure and then said I will when i catch a fish again . On some online page he is working on .
