2008 French Open

Postby NFC » Mon May 26, 2008 3:01 pm

Any other tennis fans out there?

Nadal and Ivanovic my tips. Although Ana is more out of hope than anything because he's not in great form. I think Rafa will win again as I don't think anyone can beat him over 5 sets on clay. They're at $11 for the double.

The french is the only open that Fed Ex hasn't won yet, I hope that continues.

IMO Nadal & Ivanovic can do the double...

I hope Roger gets it although that's a long shot...

The Djokovic is also a good chance as is grunter Maria...

I saw the end of her match last night and she was reasonably fortunate to beat the #106 in the world.

I was really hoping she lost though because her grunting/schreeching/screaming on just about every shot is simply a disgrace to the sport of tennis. The fact that her opponent did just fine without any of the histrionics that Sharapova produces provides proof that it is completely unnecessary and should be outlawed from the game.

I really can't believe more players don't complain more about her and other offenders like the Williams sisters.
Plus it seems the the sport's administrators are too spineless to do anything to avoid upsetting the game's top players.

Rant over

Agreed, it really is way over the top.

Good day for the Aussies. Hewitt, Dellacqua and Stosur all won. :D

I'm sorry, but Hewitt winning does NOT make it a good day IMHO!

Would like Federer to win. I like the way he goes about his tennis. Not really interested in women's tennis. I do watch it though......

Why ? Sure he can be a tosser and whatever, but the fact is he is the BEST Australian tennis player we
have had in the past ten years....

He's Australian and gets my support. What he does off court is his prerogative, but on court he always puts
in...
