I can't see Phil reapplying.

His time is up. It's been a fair 11 years which has seen him net a couple of championships.

Not a bad effort.

I think it's proven that he's as good as that idiot BRAIN Joorgian with as decent a squad. So WHY would we let him walk away. Phil's had issues with the professionalism of the 6'ers off court, yet instead of getting the off court stuff sorted and being able to recruit a decent squad, we look for a coach.

My god, what are we doing!

No Maher, no Smyth.... I wonder what we'll look like come the "tens" (ie, the decade of 2010 - 2019)

reckon the squad we got at the minute should be making the finals at least....best we have had for a couple of years

Myah, possibly if Hodge had played the whole year, I think we might have been an "on paper" top 8, but having upheaval during the season cannot be good for your playing roster. As well as losing Maher for 1/4 to a 1/3 of the season can't help.

Do people still go to watch the B-Ball?

Our roster is ordinary.

Keeping Hodge must be a priority.

Well done, Phil, you had a great run - three championships and unlucky not to get another one or two.

Favourite game - when we smashed the Magic in game 2 of the 1998 grand final series.

idiot BRAIN Joorgian

Gotta give credit where it's due.

Boy Goorj has done an amazing job with the Kings, turning a national sporting joke into the best club in the land.

And the Boomers are gonna be scary good.

Not from what I saw at a Kings v Sixers game.

Scalpers couldn't give the tickets away.

I'm inclined to agree with you Gadj, but the decision's been made and I guess we move forward ... As with all sports, "paper" sides are misleading - That team without Maher and Hodge, which has been the case for most of the year, never looked like a finalist anyway.

MP - I think the Kings can thank the league for their success as much, if not more, than BJ*

In recent years Phil has carried players for too long, Paul Rees and Cooper are two examples

recruitment has been an issue, Chappel was injured, Axel is inconsistent

you can'y afford to carry too many blokes on b ball roster

Good luck to Phil I rekon his W/L record bar the last couple of seasons has been excellent !!!

Having unfit players and especially no Brett Maher the last couple of years is the only thing that has hurt his W/L record !!!

This was last year in Sydney.

Scalper was so desperate he approached us at the Sydney Entertainment Centre ticket booth.

Gave us a great deal - mid-court seats for $10!

And the Sixers won a thriller.

:D

Magpies, yes, credit where credit is due, I agree. But he's not the messiah that lots of people think he is. Smyth took over the Boomers a while back and when I turned the TV on, I thought it was an under 23's team I was watching, except for.........D Mac who appeared........ and suddenly I thought, my gawd, this is the boomers! Brain leads the team to a worst ever series in the olympics and gets away with it because ahhh, well just because. Brain has a far better squad than the 6'ers and had the budget to get away with it as well. And good on him but I still think he's an arrogant sonova who should NEVER be held in the same light as some of the other coaches around the place.

Getting back on topic - my god, if Ken Cole becomes coach, they may as well bulldoze the place cos no one will turn up.
