I regard myself as a sports freak but I really can't see the attraction of watching bikes go past me.
Don't get me wrong I fully admire these guys for their fitness, they're up their with the best in the world if not the best.
I still remember talking to one who I saw riding his bike down South Rd at Morphetvale, he told me they were riding back from Victor to town as a warmdown!

Same with me Wedg.

I consider myself a sports freak and normally love any sport that hits the screen or the radio.

But the tour downunder does not do it for me.

The TDU is fun but nowhere near the league of the Tour de France (TDF).
Spend three weeks burning the midnight oil in July to watch the TDF, and by the end you'll be peeved off that because they have a couple of rest days you're missing out on the armchair action!
One of those sports best observed from the armchair and the occasional trip to see the whoosh of colour and soak up the goings on around the place.

I live in a small hills town, and for the tour to come through is a boost for the area. :)
