The Kookaburras clinched a spot in the final against Germany with a stunning 5-0 win over that same previously unbeaten team in the seventh and final set of round-robin games.

The result capped off a massive day for striker Jamie Dwyer and defender and fellow Rockhampton product Mark Knowles, who had earlier been named World Hockey men's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year respectively

Australia started the final round in third spot, one point behind Korea, who blew their chance to make the final by drawing 2-2 with Great Britain.

Wow, the Kookas have gone well to get that far.
