West lakes dec 8th

Postby Mickyj » Sat Dec 08, 2007 12:26 pm

So I decided to start wading while Fly fishing today.
What can I say it used more muscles than walking along the bank and casting does but it did help my Dicky knee.
So for the first hour I tried one side of the lake. With very little success ,small tiny mullet swimming between my legs and a slight choppy wind blowing I switched to the other side.
With the wind coming over my left shoulder and a choppy water surface I didn't hold much hope of a catch.
On my third cast in this new stretch I started to day dream .And wham bam you guessed it I was on with my fly rod bending nicely I landed a nice little bream.

and here is the fish with the fly in its mouth

so with the exception of a tiny mullet spitting a fly that was my first day wading and SWFF.
Cheers
