Cairns Taipans (5) vs. Hunter Pirates (8th)

Friday 10 February
Wollongong Hawks (3) vs. Brisbane or Perth

Saturday 11 February
Adelaide 36ers (4) vs. Cairns or Hunter

The Sydney Kings (1) and Melbourne Tigers (2) await the winners in the best-of-three Semi Finals, with details to be confirmed.

Despite recent form, reakon we should at least make the semi's, where our opponents, I assume, will be the Kings.

It's Wedgie's fault that we ended up fourth.

If thats the case I wouldn't write off the sixers just yet. Smyth has a great finals record against Gorgians teams.

Another superb performance by the 36rs again just in time for the
Finals again ! Those Margins they are loosing by, (their 2nd biggest ever )
is the same as 150 pts in Footy they Say !
And just think of the Margins, if they were down near the Bottom,
But Wedgie, and others will stick up for them again, cause they had someone out

The sixers lost due to the fact that they played like a bunch of girls.

Rucker and Copeland should be bigger losses to a basketball team however Adelaide are not a team and struggle (understatement) with Maher missing.

For the money- which would be at least double what he could get here. That doesn't prove he hasn't been paid by the sixers.

The first match of the finals series was tonight, and the Perth Wildcats have progressed one step further, while in the process, have knocked the Brisbane Bullets out of the finals campaign after a 96-91 victory in Brisbane tonight.

Pretty surprising result really. I really did expect the Bullets to triumph - they usually do in big-game matches - and despite their injury concerns with Rucker and Black heading into the match, they had the quality there to bring it home.

Saying that, they were hardly disgraced. Perth played liked a committed team. Matt Shanahan scored 22 points while captain Tony Ronaldson netted 20 in a relatively united match.

Brisbane looked the goods throughout the entire first half as they held the upper hand on Perth, but the visitors kept within an arm's length and ultimately took a 50-47 half-time advantage.

The Bullets took an early third-quarter lead courtesy of some Bobby Brannen magic - netting six early points - before the Wildcats developed a seven-point buffer heading into the final period.

Sam Mackinnon and Mark Bradtke were fruitful for Brisbane in the final term with 15-odd points together, but were unable to steer their team past Perth, thanks to superb final term effort by David Bailey (can't recall how many points he scored).

Bullets are the disappointment of the season.

They would have considered themselves a genuine championship contender at the start of the season.

Awesome effort by Perth, winnin in Brisbane and then winning in Wollongong.
They've certainly turned it around since we thrashed them in Perth without Maher not that long ago!

Well, the 36ers are out, great game to watch.
All my fault again, when the camera panned to the Cairns bench at one stage either in the last qtr or in OT Anthony Stewart was jumping up and down like a peanut, I said to Mrs Wedgie " ha ha, you've done nothing Anthony Stewart that's why you're teams in the game".
