Last night on dusk there were about 20 boats/canoes about 300m off Somerton Park all pretty close together, any idea what they may have been getting there? Never seen so many so close together so close to shore

There was been a number of yak snapper being called lately. I am not sure what area but that could be what all those boats you saw would be after.

Was at Moonta the weekend just gone, got 2 crabs only. But there are as many squid as you want to catch and the whiting are hit and miss.

Anyone here waiting for the yabbies I think it's worth a crack now.... Caught a small one in my shrimp pot yesterday afternoon (no shrimp though  ). Even in the past two summers when the yabbies have been running flat out I haven't caught one in my shrimp pots - and I was only using bread for bait yesterday!

Oh, and no I didn't get a fish - bit strange I thought I'd get a carp at least - only fishing from the bank near home, but still thought I'd get a fish... Time to put the boat in the water after work one day soon! Might even try Friday night.... Think I might drop the yabby pots in and go back and check them over the weekend.

Was a lot of people in the water yesterday which probably did contribute to the lack of fish. Awesome day to be relaxing by the river though.

Went on a 1/2 day charter from Wirrina on Sat morning, great conditions, went down to around the Cape, caught nothing of note, operators seemed only keen to get us out and back and take the cash, disappointed.
