IMO some people are WAY too harsh on Jon Cena on this site. It may get frustrating that he gets worlds longest ongoing push since Jerry Lawler in Memphis, however some of his early work as a heel was cutting edge and genuinly entertaining. Dont hate the player, hate the owner of the game...the one that wants to make big bucks by having a muscular company leader that boys and girls can salute. If Vince was willing to lose a few bucks and let Cena go back to a nasty "WORD LIFE" type regime wrestling purists would get a far more satisfying Cena. But alas Vinnie Mac doesnt and will never have enough money for his own liking.
The greatest of all time gave us a big boot and a legdrop for about 14 years and had to go elsewhere to allow his creative juices to flow.
Bottom line ; Jon Cenas career needs a heel turn. WWE DOESNT NEED THAT.

Few things the wwe has change sinced when Cena started as a heel and now. 1. Since the Beniot incident and the death or lots of wrestlers well before there time, the WWE has toned it back down to the pre monday night wars day of wrestlings and even taken thing out like bleeding etc and gone from some ppvs being ma15+ to an almost g rating. This has also force the gimmiks to be toned down, also Vince isnt the only one with vested intrest in the WWE anymore as it is on the stock exchange these days so the board of directors voted in by the stock holders actually make the business side choices (which is actually headed by Shane). No-one is bagging Cena's early work, it just we are sick and tired of him being the Champ or always at the top also Cena has made more than enough money out of the WWE with the Movies,Cd's and wrestling that if he really wanted to further his wrestling carrer (I am talking, in the ring skill and gimmik wise not $$$) than he would either demand a heel turn or jump to TNA because over there he would be an instint heel and he could improve his in ring skill. So I think as much as the McMahon family may want Cena to stay the way he is......so does Cena

Of corse it isnt and thats why Cena dont care and will pick up the cash, because once his wrestling carrer is over, he has his music and movies he can fall back on and will still earn millions there and thats why he dont care about if he is a face or heel and if his in ring skill has picked up.

With Linda running for the U.S. senate the WWE cleaned up its wrestling to make it PG14 foor the states. That is why you will see no more juice. I agree with you Mic on Swagger but it is how Kevin Dunn and Vince see Swagger, Personally I believe the WHC would be better on Christian or someone who can take the belt and make good story lines with it.

On Jerry Lawler he is Memphis Wrestling. Jerry Jarratt and Jerry Lawler own Mid South that is why The King had such a big push. In the AWA it was Verne Gagne and Nick Bockwinkle. In the NWA, Harley Race, Ric Flair, held the belt for a while. In WCCW the Von Eric's held the main title it was the way business was done if they were family or an owner you knew they were not going to move on in the the territory days so keep them as your main star.

Cena is awful. People like to watch wrestling and at least pretend it's real for a couple hours, that's not possible when the company's champion throws punches and fist-drops that clearly miss, and stf holds that don't look like they hurt at all. His in-ring work has barely improved in the past 5 years. This, plus his awful ring attire, shoddy merchandise, lame interviews etc make him the most disliked 'good guy' in wwe history.

I agree with you there Mic Cena suits the Little kids not the Marks like me. I enjoy wrestlers that can wrestler and put on a good show. Cena cannot put on a good show he doesn't know how to make the other guy look good and cannot sell for s***. Ric Flair, Bret Hart, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, The Undertaker, Shawn Micheals to name a few can sell and make both wrestlers look good. Ric Flair could wrestler a mop nd make the mop look good in his hey day whilst Hogan would come out rip and shirt do a body slam, throw a guy into the ropes boot to the face and leg drop and that was all done in 7 minutes. Flair would Still be going 53 minutes after hogan had a shower.

At least you changed the official Flair marks quote from..."Ric Flair could wrestle a broom stick and have a five star match"
I dont want to get into the whole Flair v Hogan thing but it was infact Terry-Jean who changed the landscape of wrestling and not Flehier.
Finally i understand and agree with some points in the Cena argument but i wont hate him just coz its what people are doing. I do disagree with negative comments about his mic skill, i refer to my earlier points about just how good his mic spots were as a heel and very early as a face before the corporate body took control of his character.
As for his fistdrops...yes they are pissweak but did you ever happen to catch the one time finishing move of "the most electrifying man in sports entertainment". The peoples/corporate elbow was a joke yet even i still cheered for it.

Ahh the People's Elbow like the leg drop managed to stun the mighty. I prefered a stunner myself, there has been many a great wrestler who has had a crappy finisher. But going back through really old tapes before his back injuries Scott Steiner was pound for pound an Awesome Wrestler. Problem was he did alot of moves that finished his career before it's time. I like many different wrestlers Cena has mic skills and that is about all the STFU bores me he does not apply any pressure and looks like he is passing a bad turd when he does the move. Legit finishes look alot better than what Cena serves up.
My top five finishes
1. Sharpshooter,
2. Figure 4
3. The Canadian Destroyer (front flip piledriver)
4. The Powerbomb
5. Tombstone

Remember the early 90,s pop for Scotty Frankensteiner as a finisher b4 every Mexican and his dog started using it as a reversal. :ANAL:

Wasnt the scripted cousin named Chris. He was just a small young fella way back when in WCCW. I remember him fueding with Percy Pringle prior to PP becoming the Urn carrying Paul Bearer.

I think you will find it was Lance Von Erich and he was the son of Waldo according to Story Line. Chris was the smallest and wanted to be a wrestler the most but his body wasn't up to it. Sadly Chris commited suicide 17 days before his 22nd birthday.
