what happened to the mick and liam as the braintrust.

Schimma, i'm pretty sure the brainstrust are still on board & are possibly organising the new brainstrust to take over in x number of years. Moose related humour is quite popular at Na Fianna (so is milk related humour) & people will take any excuse to insert "mooseisms"
The new brainstrust may feature the famous moose & another member of the Na Fianna team of the decade from what i've heard :D

Western Ireland will be back under control from David Floreani as Jon has stepped aside to become an assistant.

Hey Schimma, i notice that there arent any Western Ireland lads going away with the mens team to the Australasian State Championships in Auckland later this year, with the Flo boys unavailable and Gags and Klunny also not coming. Any other Mountaingoats who you think would be keen to go, and should be looked at (assuming they read these pages) by the coaching staff?

Open question really - anyone got any thoughts on players from their clubs who should be under consideration?

Also - what has happened to the mysterious Breaking Balls???

its a bad year for mountain goats and the state team. even last year it seemed people were keen its just too far away with lads and there young families. Also goats have lost 3 players to overseas travel for the year. Good luck to the team i am sure they will do the state and norm proud.

The Taints are attempting to win a lucrative sponsorship deal from BEROCCA for the 2010/2011 season...

Will even change our name to St B-B-Brendans to secure it!

Interesting to see that only 5 teams have nominated for the (mens) Australasian Championships in NZ at the end of September.

Notable absences include the reigning champions Victoria, last years Grand Finalists WA and NSW once again will not be fielding a mens side. That leaves us with SA, Qld, Wellington and Auckland are fielding 2 sides.

Victorian women have also withdrawn. I think that means no Vic teams at all unless they have a minors team.

The old powers are nearly dead.

Norm Murphy (R.I.P) has been warning the Australasian body about this for years. Victoria in particular needs to go to summer and cash in on AFL teams as we have here.

NSW and the Vics want us to keep the game Irish but it's unsustainable. They can keep their local comps Irish but the Australasian games should have a very local content.

If the games are in Sydney or Victoria again any time soon it's beyond a joke. It should be Brisbane 2011, Perth 2012 and then Adelaide 2013 if participation is even close to relevant.

great result in the DIV 1 res medal with Cail Harris winning. Cail last year played with the mountain goats and hopefully see him grace the paddock again. Well Done Cail

Watched a bit of the SA Men train last night. Very impressive. A big chance to break the duck this year.

The Gaffer certainly has the lads up and about, and some nice weather saw our biggest turn out yet, all bar 3 players there I think! We have “Irish Danny” on the scene who brought out his Irish mate Keith, which massively helped with our point kicking. With their efforts I think we raised our teams kicking accuracy from our usual appalling 4% to a personal best of at least 13%...!! Think I even saw MBK put one over the bar… tho it might have missed at the last moment.

Just under 4 weeks till kick off! I had a peek at the first “draft” of the program and it has SA first up against Queensland, in what is a hugely important game for us finals wise. Distressingly, I see its scheduled for 9am Auckland time… now I had a super quick look at the time zones, but wouldn’t that be about 6:30am Adelaide time…?! Doesn’t really give us long to deal with jet-lag and to get the body clocks set properly!
