Curious as to what size you thought a legal snapper was?

Nice bream fella, thats a ripper. Where did you land it? If it was in West Lakes I can understand why you have apparently want to throw all your bream back, but if it was from the Coorong I'd called you bloody MAD!. They are amazing eating out of Coorong.

Was caught out of my local...Pt Pirie river...full of lead....yuck!!!

Maybe the recent freshwater entering the system brightened the fish up, I am not sure. Could also be to do with the food available. Many variables.

best to let them go slow growth equals build up of toxins from polluted waterways .

ps
My last legal bream I took a picture of lure in mouth by chance .Went back to the tackle shop guy almost wet himself with joy .Said thanks for the great feedback here's a free lure .
Not bad for a fish out of a polluted adelaide waterway

Anyone else heading out? Look forward to the reports and pics next week.

Good luck mate! Burnt my accrued browny points last weekend, so this weekend is about racking up some more. ;) In any case, I try & keep away from Yorke's on long weekends. Too many tools on the road who hardly venture outta the CBD - evidently..

Headed to a location on Yorke's last weekend and had what could best be described as a red letter day! Leisurely 9am launch and we collected 20 squid in magnificent conditions, ranging from BIG to miniscule.. Cast & retrieving got 'em excited in conditions too calm to just 'drift' effectively.

Hit up some whiting and bagged out on fish between 36-46cm. Then headed to a spot later in the day and had a great session on the snapps, most between the 50-59cm range. Bagged out on smalls and got 2 overs @ 63cm & 65cm. Good fun in relatively shallow water on the light string. Fresh squid heads from earlier in the day were on the menu. S/W blew up a bit in the late arvo so we copped a bit of a hiding on the way back to the ramp, inccluding a couple of 3m jobbies over the top. No pain, no gain they reckon.. ;)

Top day on the water. 8)

Heading to the other side Sunday morning.
May also be a bit less choppier over there with southern winds forecast.
Good luck Swamp.
