Ease up turbo- it's hard to play forward lines in a side that doesn't see the ball pass the forward fifty often.

Ha, and it went in the complete opposite way i intended it to go...

Only the first game of footy in 5 years Tiger07, i sure hope you weren't expecting some kind of Ablett-esque play!!! Either way, i might not have got much action up forward but i had a good time running around. Isn't that what B Grade is all about??

Yes it is all about having some fun. I just thought you might have done something after your good trial game. I heard you were a good hockey player

So Then on to the actual hockey................... Whats every1's thoughts on the year to date??? The format?? How your team is shaping up??
For me............. I don't mind the format but I think the association needs to look at Friday nights games. I still can not see the point in any B grade games being played on Friday night at all, Mens or Womans.
Wanderers are shapping up ok and I'm stoked to see Craig Ambrose and Sam McConnell in the team. We are going to be very competitive all season which is good for the comp given that most people assumed it was simply a two horse race in the A grade mens.

yeah its great to see old faces make a come back . so name the two horses there haloman be interesting who you name !! yes the season will be a close one as panthers and flinders will win one or two they are still finding there feet whith some new faces to there sqauds . heard a rumor that there will be no permits this year (hooray) no signing up or down either so all clubs better start organising your b team and a team !!!! otherwise u will lose premiership points !! so if your smart pick the a grade first and who dont make it then play b grade . enough of the rumor whats everyones predictions this weekend games in the mens a grade ? for me panthers 4-2 marauders 5-4

Well barks it's pritty obvious isn't it? The early talk was of Wnaderers struggling and it being a bit of a cake walk for Marauders and Panthers to Grand Final day. We will atleast make it hard work for you guys at the business end of the year.........and Panthers will just be panthers man.........never write them off. Would expect a fairly quiet start for Panthers but watch them fire as finals approach. Having played Flinders in the Mens B grade two weeks back I was plesantly surprised to see so many talented young lads running about for them. Chucky and Blink must be doing something right there. Well done boys.
I think something came out of our mens B grade game against Panthers last weekend that needs discussing. The new rules are a little confusing to those who are encountering them for the first time and a few umpiring decisions were stuffed up in our game which can happen. I was a little.......no VERY surprised with the actions of one Panthers player who, rather than respecting the decision of the umpire, decided to umpire his own match and take the free hit awarded for Wanderers as he believed the umpire was wrong. THIS IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. Colin got it wrong.......get over it and move on. Greg Williams was the Panthers player in question which to me is very surprising as he does a lot of umpiring himself. I did ask him if he would like a player doing that in one of his matches to which I got no response....not even sure if he heard me. I didn't believe Greg was the type of person to act in this manner and whilst he was certainly correct in his rule interpritation........his personal demeaner on the field was certainly unacceptable and I hope Colin got the appology he deserved. Had I been the umpire Greg would certainly spent time behind the goals.

Heard he had a dog day, might be better off if he wasn't playing for a team like Bostons!!

No idea about how hockey will go on the weekend, but I am hoping we can have a win over Panthers in A grade, with a few players apparently coming back into our side this weekend.

The Men's B grade grand final rematch tomorrow night should be a cracker, Flinders have a some new players into their B grade side this year and with Panthers losing a couple of key players from their side (D.Malone and J.Chester), will leave them relying more heavily on Raj - it will be a very close game.

Also, does anyone know why the scoreboard hasn't been used this year?

Is it fecked up or something - that would suck seeing as it cost so much!

Panthers won the other B grade game 5-3, but the game was far closer than the score line suggests.
Panthers scored two quick goals with less than 5 minutes to play in the match, one of which I think was scored by barksoff - IIRC...
