One HD - 24 Hour Sports Channel

What are peoples thoughts on the Channel? I like it. Would be great to get some football (soccer) on as well.

I can't get it. I have an analogue TV and my set-top box is the Foxtel IQ. Only those with the IQ2 (HD box) can see it. It's so annoying that we can get a FTA digital channel like ABC 2 but can't get One SD and Ten/Foxtel won't make One available to us until July 1st, which by that stage the NBA, College basketball and IPL will all be finished.

Yeah I suppose but it's hardly cheap, I do go without to afford it but now I'm really thinking about getting rid of it and just getting a cheap set-top box. There's not really much coming up on Foxtel in the near future given that the Ashes will also be on SBS.

Good point. The only reason i want it is to watch English Premier League Soccer.

not much on?? heaps of reasons to have Foxtel, if you want to watch the 1000th re-run of MASH... and The Adams family, things we had for free years ago and now we have to pay for what we have already seen. Only reason i have Foxtel yes is for the English premier and sports, NASCAR, Drag racing, Baseball etc

good to see ONE have a live Sweet 16 NCAAB game ths morning, they are covering the game not shown on FOX

hope this continues, instead of just repeating what is on FOX they cover what FOX dont pick up, then we will have the best of both worlds

Will never ever ever happen. Foxtel have that market covered and would never concede to channel 10, especially if it came to a bidding war.

I'm not sure about that 10 may see the added value in advertising during these games when generally they couldn't charge much at all. The only thing that would keep Foxtel throwing coin at it would be if they lose the rights to that they are all but finished.

Not sure about that. In the paper the other week the guy in charge of this channel sounded pretty keen to get some soccer on there. Reckon they will try and get something like the spanish league or Serie A or even something like the FA Cup. I reckon there will be soccer in some form on One HD before too long.

Spot on. Think of the leagues not really covered that well. Eredivisie, Budesliga, Serie A, Primera Liga, Scottish EPL, Ligue 1 etc

Plenty of Soccer out there. Throw in the J-League, K-League and the Brazilian / Argentine leagues.....

One HD has got to be the best thing that has come out of this whole free-to-air TV restructuring.

I just cant get enough of the sports on there!! Totally digging the College Bball and Nascar!!

But would like to see some soccer on there...plenty of entertaining games going on around the world that would attract an audience looking purely for the entertainment of a good quality game...

I think that Serie A and Primera League may cost a bit too much for 10 to buy rights for. Setanta has the SPL doesnt it? I was thinking maybe they could get the rights for the Bundesliga or Eredivisie again dependant on cost and if they were available to be bought.

I also would love to see Handball on there too. How good would that be!!!

Yes great work by ten. Also, the few commercials they do have running are definately getting value for money at the moment, being re-run just about every 2nd break.

Yeah im not a fan of the basketball. I like the Nascar, the F1 was good, Race of Champions was good the other day too.

Im also liking the AFL replays.

Yeah some soccer would be good. I would rather see the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 out of all the leagues in the world. Maybe even some MLS...i doubt it would cost much for the rights to that...probably just send them a carton of Fosters every couple of weeks.

And as ive already said i would love to see some handball and le' cross too.
