Great win for the caps today coming from 1-0 down in the 3rd to win 2-1 in SOT at tampa bay. This match was for top spot in the southeast div. The lightning was 14 points ahead at christmas but the caps have had some good form in the last month and are on a 5 game winning streak. Currently lead div by 2 points and within 2 points of conference leaders philly who are on a 4 game slide. Dont think anyone will catch the cannucks for the presidents cup though.

Caps win in OT against Chicago 4-3, now on 8 game winning streak and No.2 seed in conference, still too far back from Canucks to capture the Presidents Cup. Big game against the Habs on Tuesday who are having a good patch of form aswell.

One of those trick shots in practice here - injured Pittsburgh player Sidney Crosby smashes the goalies water bottle in this shot!

Montreal are the latest Eastern Conference Side to clinch a playoff spot. Washington have also clinched the Southeast division. Going to go right down to the wire as to who clinches the Atlantic division with 1 point separating Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

In the Western conference, Detroit have now clinched the Central division while San Jose have clinched the Pacific division

Nice win for the caps today. One more win should pinch us top seed in conference and we finish with florida home and away. Hopefully avoid rangers in finals as they always give us problems and would be nice not to bomb out early again.

Rangers clinched last spot in East.
Seedings for East:
1 Washington
2 Philadelphia
3 Boston
4 Pittsburgh
5 Tampa Bay
6 Montreal
7 Buffalo
8 Rangers
Only 1 playoff spot to decide, Chicago or Dallas in West.
Chicago home v Detroit, Dallas @ Minnesota
If Dallas get in then all pacific division teams are in playoffs, fairly unusual to have all teams from div in playoffs.
Bring on playoffs, go you Caps

Pittsburgh have done really well to get the 4th seed considering they haven't has Crosby & Malkin for the last 3 months, don't think they can make a stanley cup run without Crosby, Does anyone know if he will be back for the playoffs?

Still TBA at this stage with Crosby. He's been doing light training for some time, so hopefully it's very soon.
