apparently they've secured 2nd spot (presuming the bloke who told me last night is correct) & if they win the double header today they'll get top spot

i can thoroughly recommend it for a night out, it is great for the kids & they have plenty of giveaways & novelty events throughout the night...............................as for one of the novelties they have for the adults is a race 'riding a broomstick horse' going base to base with one going clock wise & the other going anti-clockwise....i was hoping 5rph's & life fm's john nankerville & safooty's big phil would be in this event last night :D sadly this didn't occur
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Gladly that didn't occur last night Bayman with John and I on the little horses, although I did get asked to be onvolved tonight but politely declined.

Sadly SA lost both games of the double header tonight and now rely on results from other games going their way to secure a finals berth.

we found it hard to compete with the big bats of the vics, in these last 2 games. Some of the regular starters looked a little out of there depth against strong vic pitching. a change in lineup could have helped in game 4. oh well still in the playoff for 2nd and 3rd. good luck lads.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

CALL TO ARMS

South Australia is hosting a best-of-three semi-final of the 2009/2010 Dominos Claxton Shield at Norwood Oval from next Friday, January 29, which is the first time in over a decade such an important baseball game or series has been scheduled in the state.

If successful in this home series, it will earn SA the right to challenge Victoria for the championship in Victoria from February 5 in another best-of-three series.

With the new Australian Baseball League due to start next season, next weekend's home semi-final series will have huge ramifications, as South Australia will use it as a stepping stone to launch into the future with confidence.

Not since 1980 has a SA baseball team won a senior championship of any sort, including Claxton Shield and the former Australian Baseball League, which ran for 10 seasons from 1989.

South Australia has not had a lot of success on the overall sporting landscape through the 21st century, with next weekend's baseball semi-finals the perfect opportunity for the media to embrace a team that has proudly represented the state in a national competition.

On Friday SA will start its finals campaign, probably against NSW – unless it loses both ends of a double-header against bottom team Queensland tonight – from 6.35pm.

Unfortunately the boys went down to NSW in game 1 tonight...

Final scores - NSW 1 def. SA 0

It was a real battle of pitchers tonight with the Patriots getting the winning run in the 7th inning and holding on for the win...

Game 2 tomorrow night is now an elimination final for SA, they have to win to tie up and the series and go to a game 3 decider Sunday night...

Make sure you get along and support the boys tomorrow night from 7pm. A great crowd there tonight, I would assume around the 4,000 mark...

GREAT NEWS...

South Australia levelled the 3 games series tonight against NSW to keep it's Grand Final Playoff dreams alive...

SA defeated NSW 3 runs to 2 after a tight affair with scoreless innings from both sides for the first half of the contest...

Scores were 2 all down the home stretch but Tony Harris' men were able to score the winning run and tie up the series at 1 game a piece...

Game 3, the decider, will be played at Norwood Oval tomorrow night so I implore ALL sports fans to get down to the Parade at 7pm and cheer home the boys...

GO SOUTH AUSTRALIA...
