Luv it, it's party time, access all areas pass, it's not only the race it's the people you meet as well, bring on tomorrow, wakes dreary old Adelaide up, plus new season, new cars/designs etc, even the transporters looked great in convoy down South Road Regency Park this morning, lots of money in those rigs :D

Next door doesn't like car races, too much a waste of petrol. At least it brings in money for the state.

Mrs Wedgie told me she walked past the lineup for Holden signatures and said it looked exactly like the dole queue at Noarlunga! :?

Actually slightly off topic Im amazed how many Commodores I see broken down on the Expressway every day, you'd think they'd have the sense to drive their bombs on South Rd so they're closer to services.
Mrs Wedgie tells me there was heaps queing for the Ford signatures but it was a smaller queue and the people lined up actually looked like they had jobs unlike the other queue.

Got offered a corporate box ticket for Saturday and Sunday, it would be good being in the box but I'd still have to fight through the ferals to get to it so declined, will play bowls on Saturday instead and enjoy a day in front of the box on Sunday too. Free booze and food was tempting though.

Disagee, Ive been to motor sports live but its much more enjoyable away from the ferals at home.
Footy wins hands down but that might differ if you follow a team with a small/quiet/nerdish following.

Christ, would you believe the ferals are out and about in town already. I know most of them dont have jobs but surely they have beds. Did provide me with a giggle when 2 burley ferals decked out in their Holden gear were waving their Holden flag out of the Lancer with pink seat covers. WTF?

Ill talk to the guy who offered me the corporate box tix today and see if I can give them to someone else. Ill advise on here if I can.

Lets not jump the gun, has the best medical team in Australia looking after him, keep fingers crossed, has family and friends now at bedside, next few hours are critical, accidents like that piss me off, get these crooks run into people and run off, heres a guy probably makes a very minor and simple mistake and is in huge strife. fight hard Ash, we are all thinking of you

hahahha Wedgie, funny how I have had to put so many latest Fords off the road for breach of Australian Road rules compared to Commodores, I happened to be at the lineup for signatures, think Mrs Wedgie may have it slightly wrong but not by a lot, there were an equal amount of vegies in both lines

Agreed.

This crash happened right in front of me and little Borat, Cooper turned in to early at the infamous turn 8, and hit the right armco quite hard. Speared him across the track straight into the outside wall, which actually broke and had to be replaced. Bounced back across the track and hit the inside wall, was very nearly hit by Sieders as he was sliding across the track.

Hardest hit i've ever seen on a track.

Took them about 25 minutes to remove him from the car, sources tell me that they gave him an emergency tracheotomy while in the car.

the start of the Porsche race was delayed today while the police accident investigation unit put the yellow markers on the track and took a whole lot of photos.

Certainly a huge damper on an otherwise great days racing.

Unfortunately, that's motor racing.

Thoughts to the family and team and fellow racers.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

No offence mate but I trust Mrs Wedgie's observation skills a little bit more than yours.
Mind you I do agree that anyone that lines up to get motor car driver's autograph would probably be a vegie no matter which side they follow.
Good luck to you and the Elizabeth cars tomorrow though. Luckily they have a majority of the field so unless they're completely crap cars they should fill most of the podium just like today. :?

Im tempted to go to tomorrow with the lure of free booze and food but will probably stay home as the A-League GF is on and I can flick between channels or play World of Warcraft which has me sucked in. Its a shame Santana will be there, should have just had Doc Neeson's Angels and I'd be a definate.

Coming from the Nth east side, it's a pain because of traffic (getting into town), HOWEVER I think it's fantastic for the state and it's economy, sensational that it's on the same time as the Fringe because groups of people (petrol heads and people interested in arts) can mingle ????!!!! in the Parklands area after the race.

Seriously though, it's a great time for the state and great for revenue.

Personally I find the race quite boring, but that's my prerogative, and I understand that people enjoy it, and that's great!!!! If my prerogative was what the whole state was based on, we'd be broke within 5 minutes! The bit that annoys me is people complaining about the inconvenience of the race but then also complain because the state is negative or wont take on initiatives to make the state better, or more lucrative.
