Not sure. Had a quick look at work ( on-line ) and then read a wrap up. I'll have another look....

Have said it in the past seasons but Pittsburgh once again doing extremely well in leading their division with a 48-37 record and Andrew McCutchen is amongst the league leaders in Home Runs, RBI's and batting average and is apparently only on $710,000 dollars for this season!

A depleted Red Sox pathetic against the Yankees. The Fenway Park brains trust have to sit down and take a good hard look at themselves and start making some trades that favour the side not embarrass them. Injuries to key players - particularly Crawford, Pedroia and Ellsbury show up a lack of depth which is only brought about by lack of planning.

Good series win over the Sox by the Yankees, the batters are all starting to fire when early on in the season all the work was being left to Granderson, Cano and Teixeira. Swisher and A-Rod are starting to get a bit more consistant after sluggish starts, whilst Jeter just keeps on getting it done. Pitching depth is still a concern though.
Head into the All-Stars break with the best record in the League and are 7 games clear of the Orioles in the AL East

I must admit the Yankees look freaking awesome right now. Andruw Jones - FFS!

National League will have home field advantage in the World Series after smashing the American League 8-0 in the All Star game in Kansas City. Melky Cabrera from the Giants was MVP while Detroit's Prince Fielder won yesterday's Home Run Derby beating Toronto's Jose Bautista in the final.

Was funny to see AL HR Derby captain Robinson Cano getting booed for not including Kansas City's Billy Butler on his roster and then get eliminated in the first round without registering a HR!

Disappointing result but not unexpected when the AL side was full of overated Rangers players. The Yankees are currently the best side in the whole comp yet very few were deemed good enough to play :?

Yankees beat the Angels 6-5 after trailing 5-2 at bottom of the 8th.
Mark Teixeira showed why he should have been in the All Stars game with 2 big homers including a 3 run homer to tie it up at 5-5

To be fair to Albert Pujols, he did hit .326 in June during which time the Angels went 17-9.
His average currently sits at .271 and he's hit 15 homers and 53 RBI.

Expect a better return than that for the ridiculous ammount they paid for him.
Would be at least 30 guys having a better season than he is!!!!

Looks like former gun shortstop Omar Vizquel at the age of 45 is going to fall just short of the 3000 hit club in what will probably be his last year - only playing sporadically at the moment - as he sits on 2856 career hits - he'll still go down as one of the great gloves of all time and use to pull off some absurd plays back in the '90's.
Alex Rodriguez will probably get his 3000th early next season as he currently sits on 2866 hits and barring a huge decline or injury, think it's a given that he'll finish behind only Rose and Cobb (both over 4000 hits) for total hits and he is currently one of 17 active players with over 2000 hits.
Albert Pujols currently sitting on 2174 hits and given that he's in the first year of a 10 year contract, the Angels must feel he'll get close to 4000 as well.
Jim Thome has just hit his 610th career home run to move into 7th place all time.
The Atlanta Braves have just come from a 0-9 deficit against the Nationals and Strausberg to win 11-10.

To me it seems absurd that Vladimir Guerrero has had almost zero interest from MLB teams this year.
