How ****ing annoying was Courier tonight -
"Oh Ive never seen Nadal kick his leg out like that, must be getting heavy legs"
"This cant go to 5 sets and Nadal knows he cant win it in 5"
and it went on and on and on
FFS he had 1 tough match for the whole fortnight and these blokes are some of the fittest athletes in the world
I wouldn't know because I had the TV on mute for about 4 hours of the match such was the sickening commentary in favour of Federer. I'm sure Courier has some kind of sick crush on Roger.
RAFA YOU LEGEND!
Courier as a tennis player recognises that Federer is perhaps the greatest talent ever to grace the game, and he shouldn't be losing to Nadal on this or any other surface besides clay. A sick crush? Ridiculous thing to say, these former players gush over the bloke because they know full well what incredible ability he has. Anyway I'm disappointed that he couldn't get it done, but once again it was Fed who let himself down. As Courier was saying earlier in the tournament, the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result; the way Fed approaches matches against Nadal just isn't right and if he keeps going like this the same results will occur. There's also the confidence issue, you can see Roger is agitated whenever Nadal is on the other side of the court.
Also, I really don't know what it is with this desire a lot of people seem to have to see Fed get beaten. He's arrogant you say? He's entitled to be. It's the arrogance of someone like Djokovic that's laughable, he's the sort of player I could understand people barracking against.
Is Fed still without a coach? Hope not because it doesn't matter how good you are, sometimes you need someone to take you aside and tell you what the deal is. Playing yourself out of winnable positions time and time again against an inferior talent, that's just not what you want to see, and persisting with ineffective tactics is even worse.
