Confirming all that you ask is true!
The BBQ van is fast becoming a Friday night tradition for the Milky Bar Kid & I should be out early enough to have a bite at the BBQ, recover & then hopefully make it a 3rd loss in a row for Onkas.

Incorrect, the BBQ van will not be there this Friday as it has been hired for some sort of Xmas pageant/fete...Damn you Santa  but i believe the Minors who have their presentation night from 8-9pm in the clubrooms will be ordering Pizza at the conclusion based on the fact they ate about 6 meals a day when in Perth. Feel free to get in on some of that action but gaurd your beers closely ;)

The 6.45pm Friday game between Onkas v St. Brendans has been postponed until a date TBC in January on the off chance hundreds of spectators who read SA Footy forums were heading down to watch ;)
On a positive note it means that the grounds will be set up and the gates unlocked in time for the first game this week.

Despite the fact that they are from my club i want to say well done to the Na Fianna girls last week on their work as officials and bar. They supplied the correct amount of competent officials to all games but more importantly manned the bar and kept it open well after the final game taking around $750 which is about $500 more than several of the nights/days i have seen. I think the bar is a huge asset that our association has and if worked correctly can be a great revenue raiser.

I think it was Flinders that put forward the idea of a paid bar manager and based on what i saw what can be done Friday and the fact that we run comps out of St. Marys 4 days a week. I certainly dont think it is a bad idea and whilst it might be a small financial outlay initially i think the benefits will far oytway the costs in the long run. teams like St.Brendans and the Steve Irwins Allstars deserve a Happy hour once a month as well IMO as they are the teams that ensure the bar runs at a profit whilst making sure they never die of thirst. :)

Did a great job setting up the field & nets too with a bit of help from the taller Saints lads.
They also set up the field prior to their game on Sunday when the team on official duty rocked up at 3:57

Would be a good idea just to be able to keep the bar open and make some money. Wre shoudl do a comparision on extra made on nights when it is kept open after games to nights when it is not.

I cant believe there arent more local drunks stumbling around St Marys. Must be the cheapest prices in Adelaide for over the counter booze?
