As great a player as he is, am quite staggered by this. a guy who will be 32 when the season starts getting a monster contract and apparently the offer by the Cardinals in the end was only a fraction less.

You can still be a good hitter into your forties but gee!

Prince Fielder signed a 9 year 200 million plus contract with the Detroit Tigers.

Deffo didn't see that coming but they probably will play him as a DH most of the time.He normally plays 1B but Detoit already have Miguel Cabrera who is one of the best around.

Tigers to easily win AL Central I think.

Yankees had a great win over the old enemy today. Trailed Boston 9-0 after 5 innings and scored 7 in the 7th and 8th innings to win 15-9

Ryan Braun with 3 homers and 6 RBI in a recent 8-3 win over San Diego
Matt Kemp absolutely on fire - still above the magical .400 at .411 with 12 homers (clear major lead) and 25 RBI so far.
Jered Weaver throws second no hitter of the season.
Money man Albert Pujols absolutely stinking it up so far for the Angels with a .208 average (.148 in last 7 days), no homers and only 5 RBI. He did start slow last year too but gee, he'd wan't to get a move on. Carlos Beltran proving a more than adequate replacement for Pujols in St Louis so far with 7HR, 18RBI, 5 stolen bases and a .279 average while the Cardinals also have a clear 5 game lead already in the NL Central with a 16-8 record

Never mind 3 homers in a game, Texas' Josh Hamilton hit 4 in a game - only the 16th player to do so - in a very recent game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Last week the Yankees lost champion closer Mariano Rivera to an ACL injury, hopefully he makes it back, would be sad to see him end with an injury.

I've got Pujols and Beltran in my fantasy team. And I've swapped them around. Pujols, no 2 draft pick has gone to the bench cos he is stinking it up majorly.

This is the first season in history to have 4 homers in a game, as well as a perfect pitching game...

The Met's David Wright currently above the magical .400 average, hitting .411 and .524 over his last 7 games.

Finally the Yankees are showing some consistancy after an ordinary start, just swept the Mets and are 8-2 from last 10. Only trail the Rays by 1/2 a game now. Dodgers still the pace setters though.

Braves are doing better than battling, only 2 games behind the Nats. Braves are also 8-2 from last 10 and have a nearly identical record to the Yankees, definately are not expecting an easy series

Yankees 6-4 Braves
Yankees trailed 0-4 in the 8th when A-Rod stepped up and hit a grand slam, that has now tied him with the record for most career grand slams. Yankees scored another 2 runs in the 8th to complete the comeback victory :D

Brew Crew not the same as last year.

But it's still fun to listen to Bob Uecker (the play by play on Major League) on the WTMJ call the games via the web.
