Funny Lot us South Aussies

The build up to this game has Been a Little Quieter than usual here.

Momentum is starting to gather for this game in SA... Australia V England......

A hard game for a 1/4 final.....

Probably Because of SA's SANFL Final is on Sunday here

No doubt, TV ratings will be high...

AUSSIS AUSSIE AUSSIE......

Don't worry Dog_ger the build up might have been quiet but it doesn't mean we're not looking forward to what should be a great weekend of rugby...and with the GF as well it's pretty much a perfect sporting weekend (could only be improved if the Legs were in the GF  )

Saturday
Australia no2 v England no6 ....Go Aussies
New Zealand no1 v France no5 ....wish it had been us...Go Kiwis

Sunday
South Africa no3 v Fiji no9 ....oh how much do I want Fiji to cause a fantastic upset
Argentina no4 v Scotland no8 ....anyone's guess...think the Argies might just clinch it.

Stock up on the beer and the munchies and prepare to be entertained :D

Don't know about your tv coverage but I can tell you that the kick off is 2pm over here which I believe is 10:30pm your time... if it's being shown live over there hopefully this should give you a rough idea of when for now.

Go the Aussies :D
Go the Kiwis

Give Dog_ger a good win to celebrate

Because I'm afraid that the GF is a no win situation for the poor thing

Doggies win and Mrs Dog_ger will be upset

North win and Mrs Dog_ger won't let him forget

I won't mention scores for the Aussie or Kiwi games in case anyone is recording them to watch later and trying to avoid seeing the score
If for some reason anyone wants a score update just pm me and I'll pm a score back to you.

One word - INTENSITY
The lack of intensity that the Wallabies showed tonight was incredible for a RWC quarter final. Australia would have had as many if not more significant line breaks tonight, but on numerous occasions there was little or no support at the break down. The effort that the Poms put into the ruck and counter ruck was a major factor (along with the scrum - I know that we will hear all about)

I've never really watched much rugby and never understood it.

I watched todays game, and if that's anything to go by, I'll NEVER watch another game of rugby in my life.

Not because us Aussies went down, but because GOD SAVE US ALL, THAT RUBBISH IS BORING!

Todays game is not one that you would show to rugby novices and expect much of a positive response. Im still so disappointed..yes that the Wallabies lost but HOW!!

What are the characteristics of a good game?

Things I just don't get: (Bare in mind I'm lower than a complete novice when it comes to rugby!)

Offside - is it similar to the real football rules?
Why the hell do they kick the ball out of bounds? Isn't the point of having a boundary line to keep the ball IN?
Why do they have a scrum and what's the point?
If you get 3 points for a field goal, why don't they just keep pinging away at the goal AFL style?

One thing I really find silly is that the point is to go forward, but you have to pass backwards. Just seems dumb to me.

10-12. Jonny had another good kicking day only missing 2 conversions, but the poms looked better all over the ground. :(
