Ive had a look at the Red Sox home page, their home guernsey is white with red numbers and letters (with a very small amount of blue around the name of the team name on the front, none on the back) and their away jersey is similar with the grey replacing the white so you're on the mark PhilG.
They may have a 3rd jersey but I couldn't find that.

Follow quite a bit of it actually and have done for a while.
For eg the team I follow, the Houston Astros quite often wear this jersey at home:

and quite often wear this jersey away:

Had a very cool black top last year too.

They actually have more white than the Red Sox have blue in their outfits and they don't even list it as a colour.

You obviously didn't read the original question which included the sentence" The list would include national teams (home or away/alternative strip guernseys that are red and blue)." and perhaps should before making wrong assumptions.
I certainly wouldn't describe the Red Sox home or away Jersey as red and blue, there's more red and blue in Centrals guernsey.

Try again Dutchy.

And just to settle the argument, the Red Sox Wikipedia site definately describes 3 colours in their official colours so are definately not a red and blue side:

"Uniform Colors: Navy blue, red, and white (and green during spring training and mainly St. Patrick's day)."

And a quick scan of other MLB sides wikipedia sites show that clubs only list white as a colour if its an offical colour not just used in their jerseys for eg the Astros list brick red, sand and black as their colours despite wearing a white jersey for some games.

Hey Dutchy, you obviously don't follow too much baseball mate. :?

Salford City Reds (English Rugby League) official colours are red and blue but their uniform does tend to have a touch of white in it (mind you so does Norwoods).

A.S. Cecina, F.C. Francavilla and A.C Sangiustese(Italian Soccer Clubs) are red and blue.

Also the state of North Carolina's colours are red and blue so their might be a few clubs there that are too.

Predominately red and white with blue trim, official colours red, white and blue.
Im not sure how that fact (even though you call it a theory) relates to Norwood or Melbourne who's offical colours are red and blue, obvious as using the quote button I thought?
The Red Sox's official colours aren't just red and blue and their jerseys are predominately red and white.

Using "your" theory we should also count Central, the Sydney City Rooster and just about every British or UK sporting team as red and blue, WTF? :?
Next you'll be telling me North Adelaide can be classed red and blue because of the blue in the Mistral.

Come on mate, how hard is "home or away/alternative strip guernseys that are red and blue" to understand? Boston's guernsey/jersey would hardly be described as red and blue, there's more red and blue in the Sydney Roosters, Western Bulldogs and Centrals jersey and I wouldn't add to them to the list because they too are not red and blue, their official colours like the Red Sox is listed as "red, white and blue".

Not exactly a sporting team but Norwood supporters would look great dressed up like this:

Ive been doing quite a few searches and its quite amazing that despite the colours red and blue being used so often in countries of colours and sporting teams either separately or with another colour, red and blue together without any other colour (or white) is quite rare when compared to others.

As I said before, you might remember a team having certain colours but they have since changed them.
Seems to depend on who the initial poster is around here as to whether they want to jump down your throat for being wrong.

Dude, its quite simple, they have 3 colours, red, white and blue.
Their uniforms reflect these 3 colours although red and white is more predominate than blue.
Their emblem and merchandise is red, white and blue.
Its not "mute" at all as most clubs dont have white in their offical colours, for eg the Astros.
Every club has red in their guernsey (check out the SANFL badge) in the SANFL but that doesn't mean its not an official colour of North Adelaide.
Absoultely ridiculous point Dutchy.

All I did initially was to state that:

Wedgie wrote:Ive had a look at the Red Sox home page, their home guernsey is white with red numbers and letters (with a very small amount of blue around the name of the team name on the front, none on the back) and their away jersey is similar with the grey replacing the white so you're on the mark PhilG.

For you to suggest I don't follow "to" much baseball simply because I stated the facts and you were under some misaprehension that white wasn't officialy one of their colours is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't belive me that white is one of their official colours (you did say "if", I thought you would have known me well enough to believe things I state as not being lies) feel free to look at this page if you're too lazy yourself before making insulting comments, look 2 thirds of the way down under "Quick Facts" next to "Uniform Colors:", feel free to compare this to pages dedicated to other MLB teams such as the Astros:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Red_Sox

Even though you were wrong I didn't make any reference to your knowledge of the said sport at that stage being the polite chap I am.

Crikey, some people! There's another one for the "Things that Shits Me" topic on the General Discussion Board. People that tell other people they don't know much about something when they in fact know less themselves!

LOL - Every club wear white for home games -whether its their official colour or not, so i can easily be confused that white is an official colour of that team (or not in this case), I never disagreed with you...and apologise for saying that you "dont follow the sport" (not overly insulting?) but if you followed the sport I would have thought you would know the white/grey uniform for home/away games respectively.

Just like the old SANFL days where by default every away team wore white shorts (Sturt, Torrens, Woodville, Glenelg, Westies never had this colour officially but wore it!)

That's the thing mate, I was one step ahead of you, I am/was aware that white is worn for most home games but I also knew it was an official colour for the Red Sox and not others. I accept your confusion and apology.

Three points:

first, as a Norwood supporter I'm interested in like coloured teams - ie red and blue. White is only used by Norwood as a variation to avoid a colour clash. I'm interested in red and blue for a home or an away guernsey, or even better, an "all games" guernsey but I think Collingwood are the kings here and they are black and white. Another debate that one.

Secondly, thanks for all the feedback. I tried a few Google type searches and looked at a few "league" pages but ironically it's not always easy to establisgh who wears what colours without linking in one by one to every club's website.

Three - and definitely the highlight. Wedgie's 5000th post was a Norwood one!     Maybe Jimmy will update his auto signature....

FWIW...

Got a white Red Sox t-shirt at home (all the way from Beantown, I might add.)

The 'Red Sox' is red with blue trim...
