Todd and another player got into a brawl at a club after last weeks game. the other player has 2 cases to answer in the courts. apparently Todd doesn't have any except i think their were some penalties hanging over him by the club from previous mistermeaners hence why he was stood down from this game.

in further news this week an ex player has come forward to say that hey took the blame of a previous drink driving incident that would have seen Todd put in jail for simmilar events earlier. the police have re-opened that case

DID anyone seriously think Canberra might sack star halfback Todd Carney for his latest off-field "indiscretion"?

In the greater scheme of things, allegedly urinating on a bloke's leg and barking like a dog at women is socially unacceptable, but it falls well behind a couple of his previous efforts.

The most serious was in March last year when Carney led police on a wild car chase through the streets of Canberra.

He was subsequently disqualified from driving for five years and fined $2000 after pleading guilty to charges of negligent driving and driving while disqualified. Only months earlier, he had lost his licence after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

The Raiders waved the big stick at Carney and then signed him to a long-term contract.

Now we know the Raiders "take the issue of off-field behaviour very seriously".

Chief executive Don Furner said as much in a press release. But just how seriously depends on the calibre of player involved.

Not that the Raiders should be singled out on this. Every football club in the land is the same.

FYI WEDGIE: Todd Carney stood down for the rest of the year and fined $20,000. It appears like most incidents this year off the field in the NRL other than SBW its alcohol related which is nothing new
