Federer, the best player since the "Open" era IMO, cruised last night. Took the rust out in his first service game and just demolished his opponent.

Play of the Day: Fed serves a swinging "Ace" out wide to seal the second set. Diego calls for the "Hawk-Eye" dispute system...the replay shows it was out by a inch. Fed then serves a second serve ace, down the line...He cracked a smile whilst Diego gave the heavens a wry look, a defeated smile and the watching public were in awe... :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

Awesome and clinical display once again by Federer last night - you would never know that he was ill last week!

I don't think he will be troubled at all until maybe the semis...

Slight tangent- i reckon courier and woodbridge are both excellent commentators and have a really good chemistry together- do others agree?

Dellacqqua just beat schnyder - into third round- well played

MOLIK in early danger - down 5-2 in first set

was a fan of courier when he played and enjoy his commentary

think courer and woodbridge are better together then courier and rodg.

why are the tv networks broadcasting the same game ? fox has 2 stations covering 2 different games the i turn to 7 to see the score in another game & they are showing the same womens match as one of the fox stations, i would think that in this day & age that we'd be able to see 3 different games anyway back to ch 9 for the cricket india 2/161 atm
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Watched the 2 games tonight - Sharapova was very good against Davenport ( round 2 ) which this time 18 months ago would of been a final !!!

A Rod won in straight sets but once he gets a better opponent wil struggle !!!

She was fantastic in the last 2 sets. Was a pleasure to watch.

Molik was out classed in every aspect by a very very good player who may be a dark horse for the tournament.

Roddick has been a bit rusty but with match practise still will make quarters and Semis then struggle. Richard Gasquet is looking really really good and is a under rated player IMO.

Off track for a second, Has anyone been to the Aus Open? Favourite Game watching if have? I saw Kournikova V Hingis early in Annas career, Highlight for obvious reasons. Also saw her serve 32 double faults yet still win in 3 against Ai Sugiyama of Japan.

another slight tangent...
Is it just me, or is the tennis on half an hour delay? The Rolex sponsored clock on the courts shows the same time as Adelaide time. What's the deal with that??

Has always been the case for day sessions in particular - that way sunrise and any other carp on 7 gets to run its full course on Adelaide TV prior to the tennis starting. We wouldn't want to upset the routines of the folk who watch those shows.

Correct. Shits me to tears as the mens match especially in the later rounds doesn't finish until 1 - 2 in the morning...yawn...

Pup, what time does the tennis come on over there for the evening session ?

If they did it at 2030 local time for WA, you'd be able to go on the net and get a finished score...
