Just got back from an all-nighter and caught the Fed-Safin highlights on Fox Sports News; looks like Roger is hitting some ominous form.

Any TV or movie producer worth their salt could do a lot worse than to start putting a script together for the Jelena Dokic story. Regardless of what happens tomorrow night, its truly one of the most heartwarming sports stories of the last 12 months, watching the turnaround in public perceptions and seeing the growth of her as a person.

SPOILER WARNING!!!!

Strange clash between Stosur and Dementieva at the minute. Stosur led the first set 5-2 before Dementieva fought back to claim it 7-6. Now it's 5-3 in the second with Dementieva serving for the set. It's basically been break for break, very odd stuff.

UPDATE: Stosur has again broken back so it's on serve with Sam now serving to stay alive at 4-5.

UPDATE 2: And there's the match, Dementieva is through 7-6, 6-4. Extremely disappointing performance from Stosur who had the first set on toast leading 5-2 and let it go with some shocking errors. Dug her own hole and you can't help but feel a huge opportunity went begging tonight.

Couldn't agree more CK. It's an inspiring story. I've had goosebumps watching her win...

Now 8-8 in the fifth. Unusual to have a night match not on Rod Laver Arena.

Gonzalez wins it 12-10 in the 5th.

Only saw the end, but saw some great shots after more than 4 hrs of play.

And the game on MCA was telecast live, not on a 30 minute delay too.

No aggression from Federer today on what I've seen. Berdych dictating. He took the first set 6-4 and is up 3-1 in the second set tiebreak. If Fed doesn't lift his intensity he's gone.

Berdych now up two sets to love, 6-4, 7-6. Federer just about done and dusted, doesn't look like it today. If he wins from here I'd be surprised and that's saying something given who's under the pump.

For mine the velocity on his groundstrokes isn't there, looks flat.

Despite some of the mind numbing commentary from the Channel Seven team, it was obvious to everyone and their dog last year that Federer is not the player he once was. Nadal has always owned the guy and Djokovic, Murray and now the next tier down don't even fear him anymore.

Disagree, I think illness put a damper on him the entire season and knowing a lot of people who suffered from glandular fever, it can dog you for a long long time. He's looked really good up to this match (admittedly I didn't see the Safin encounter save for highlights) but seems to be generally flat today. What we do know is when he's been flat in the past he's still found a way to get over the line. Today is a major test.

That's what I was talking about, you're lapping up the Channel Seven spin. Yes, he was under the weather here last year but was fine for the other 75% of the year. Did you even see the French final, the Wimbledon final or his US Open win?
