Well the 'boks have responded and charged away to a 27-10 lead, not watching it and just getting the scores, I wonder if there were any substitutions due to the score?

All over with the Springbok winning 25-30 in what I would think would have been a very entertaining match, hopefully as I can here God Save the Queen, the next Islander match will be just as entertaining.

Poms up 23-12 at the half.
Watching Johnny Wilkinson doing his kicking routine, you just want to jump the fence and kick his @rse whiles its there sticking out.

The All Blacks would not (and are not if you read some Kiwi papers) be happy with their performance last night. Dan carter missed five shots at goal, yes some were from out wide, showing that the Kiwis werent breaking away and scoring under the posts and add the five simple handling errors that they had within sight of the try line, I am not surprised by their annoyance. They are so pumped up to actually win this cup, but a performance like that with so many errors against the 'boks would leave them in real trouble. Would be surprised if Rockocoko could get a run ahead of Sivivatu, who played quite poorly last night. Youd have to expect the Kiwis to come out and put in a far better performance in their next match. Watch out Romania!!

Hmmm, haven't watched it yet brod so looking forward to tonight.

A couple more observations - the Springbox are in deep poo if they lose anyone to injury as their "second fiddle" side looked less than second rate the other night. No depth and could be to their detriment.

Tonga are becoming crowd favourites and simply lack technique. Would expect to see them vastly improved by next world cup.

Hopefully a nice couple of games today:

What were the thoughts about the two strips worn in the New Zealand/Scotland match. The Kiwis were asked at half tim to change into the allblack strip, but had not brought it with them. After this we would hope it does not happen again, eg New Zealand vs France 1/4 final

Thanks JAS. After watching the game, a couple Daniel Carter's misses weren't too bad as they were on a difficult angle. However he did miss a couple of bread and butter ones. Sivivatu will be wanting to play out of his sox next time because Rocokoko will get the guernsey.

Brod I couldn't tell them apart so my thoughts are, I was pissed off. Mr MK not impressed either. First they tell them to wear grey because the Scots were wearing their traditional blue and then they rock up with one of these new fangled carp looking shirts with grey in it!! FFS!

Next time I hope the Kiwis tell them to get stuffed.

Half time

Wilkinson and his tarts 19
Tonga 10

Great start by Tonga...taking and holding the lead until around the 30 minute mark. England just seem to have the edge over them especially after what I hate to admit was a very impressive sprint the length of the pitch by Paul Sackey to score his second try not long before the half time whistle. Only a 9 point lead so still time for Tonga to do the world a favour

Full time

England 36
Tonga 20

Poor poor Tonga...genuinely believe that they deserve to go through to the next stage far more than England do...but it's not to be...the jammy prima donnas are through and Tonga go home.

It's up to you Aussies now to give Wilkinson and Dallaglio's over-inflated egos a good kick up the bum.

Tonga was never going to win

England are too professional to allow this to happen

Sorry Dog_ger we shall just have to agree to disagree on this one :)

England have not done much since 2003 RWC...ranked no7...suggests they were one hit wonders.

Like other sports...England win...get p*ssed...promptly forget how to play

Go Ireland
Go Aussies
Go Kiwis

Im with you JAS, their performances in every game of the RWC do not show ANY sort of champion style or quality. Actually thought that it may be closer than this, had my money on the Poms 1-12pts

Still not going to mention the first two games

Now for the 3rd game

 :o :D OMG...Fiji...thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wales 34
Fiji 38

The Fijians played what must be one of the greatest games of their lives earning themselves a place in the quarter finals. The Welsh go home  Am I ashamed at being so happy about it....nah...disliking Welsh rugby is a sport in itself. Only real downside was a horrible looking injury to Fijian Nicky Little in the last couple of minutes...ended up with his leg very badly twisted back under him...stretched off with much attention paid to his knee...hope it's not as serious as it looked.
