OK rugger fans...todays dainty offering is The Lobos v the Azzurri :D

Portugal no22 v Italy no9

Portugal as the tournament debs are not expecting finals so no pressure on them...just happy to be here...might surprise Italy. IMHO Italy are always a joy to watch...always play with huge passion...like a pack of terriers from start to the very last second. Definately looking forward to this one.

Half time and neither team has disappointed so far, much more exciting than yesterdays game. Some heavy-handed refereeing...sin-binning the Italian captain after thinking that the touch judge said punch when infact he clearly said push was a shock to all...especially the captain himself. Lovely try by Portugal late in the half...unlucky for them that they couldn't convert it.

Italy 16
Portugal 5

Final score

Italy 31
Portugal 5

Great game...bit of everything :D ...some thrills, some spills and a few handbags but all played in great spirit. Not a perfect game with errors by both sides but I think they can be justly proud that the first scrum collapse didn't occur until the 60th minute. Only one yellow card and that was a mistake IMO. Lets hope we see many more games like that before the tournament is over :D

Another day another game

Wales no8 v Japan no18

Whilst I would love to see the tournaments biggest upset  ...I think it's a pretty safe bet that the northern shaggers will run all over the cherry blossoms...still I can live in hope

Half time and a great start by Japan scoring first and scaring the hell out of the Welsh  Could be much closer than anyone expected with the Japanese keeping the Welsh on their toes

Japan 11

Oh well it was a nice dream for a little while in the first half  I don't think anyone could accuse Japan of not trying especially considering that possession was 48 to 52 in Japans favour.

Now for a sleepless night...dreading all things French

Hope not though...If the Irish get up they are in, if the French get up it may come down to the Ireland/Argies game...ohh the suspense

Haha...nice one Dog_ger

Don't think either team has a chance of winning the tournament so I'm fairly philosophical about tonights/tomorrows (depending on time zone) game...what will be will be :D Anyway I think a win might just be prolonging the agony as I believe the whoever takes second place in the group will have to face the Kiwi's 8-[ [-o< Should still be a battle royal with both teams fighting for survival though

Go Ireland
Go Donncha

Half time

France 12
Ireland 3

Plenty of if only's...if only it hadn't taken O'Gara 36 mintues to remember how to kick a ball we would have another 3 points...if only the English eejit of a referee hadn't crashed into Trimble as he tries to make a break for the line we might have another 7...if only Ireland hadn't given away a couple of penalty because of some childish indiscipline France might have at least 6 less  and if wishes were horses I'd have my own racing stables by now

Time for another half and another drink :)

JAS,

If I worked it out right, Ireland will probably have to win by MORE than 75 points...that is gonna be one tough ask. I've assumed that the Argies will beat Namibia by about 40...
