Disappointing.

Good win, and that pretty much puts Cairns out of the finals picture

3/4 time

Gold Coast 71
Adelaide 65

Maxey 14, Goulding 13
Ballinger 16, Ng 12

Half time was 52-50, Adelaide's way. Was on track to give the highest match aggregate for the year a nudge.

Gold Coast look to be running right over the top of a tiring Adelaide. 83-69, 7:37 remaining, Scott Ninnis calls time out.

Adelaide shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak. Currently at 47% from the floor, 36% from outside the arc and 54% from the stripe.

Comparably, Gold Coast are 53%, 45% and 92%.

The Blaze slaughtering us on the boards: 35 rebounds (10 off, 25 def) to 19 (5 off, 14 def)

Nearly all over...3:08 remaining, 94-80, although Ballinger launches a three successfully as Ninnis calls timeout. 23-15 this quarter.

Shootouts will remain Adelaide's Achilles. They can grind out lockdown wins, but against the likes of a Gold Coast or Townsville, who fire off big scores, it's hard to keep up.

NZ win 103-89 over Adelaide

NZ's Kirk Penney sets a new record for the 40 minute format with 49 points. His nine three-pointers is just outside a spot in the all-time NBL top ten for three pointers in a match.

Sixers lost by 1 point in a thriller...

Were 11 points up at one stage with only 5 minutes to go but Townsville shot the lights out from beyond the ark and got back in it...

Cortez Groves stepped up with more game time to play reasonably well...

Can't remember the final scores, think it was something like 86 to 85...

Matt Burston had an opportunity to hit the winning points on the buzzer but tight defence resulted in an air ball and the clock ran out...
