TOPIC OPEN!!!!!!!! Enough fluff on this site. Todd and Rhys are Gabe Phillipses midfield equals, Della was the best forward in the whole comp in 07, if in doubt ask Gabe!
My question is...Why dont FON have Reps at the Nationals???????

Denied registration at the meeting tonight......very disappointing result, let hope we haven't seen the last of this...

Friday night's weather- Cold, Raining, 14 degrees. Anything can happen!

Onkas to defeat Western Ireland by 1-5

Have Onkas ever been picked on this forum to win a game!

Mitcham to defeat Port by 16+

Tommy Greenshields is a machine. Will kick 4 goals easily and bring Mitcham an early season victory. They did beat Onkas in a game last year!

St Brendans to beat Irish by 6-10

The big polish bear will be fresh off a plane and the majority of the St Brendans boys will hope not to get RBT'd on the way to St Marys. Matt Doeke will no doubt have a blinder for Irish!

Na Fianna and Flinders to Draw!!

Have to be different here. Can't pick a winner. Na Fianna have a lot of class however you never know what you're going to get from Flinders Pre-Christmas!

Good luck to all players and coaches (especially the new ones) this weekend!!!

Good to see the frequent !!!!!'s of Breaking Balls back online! CT's tips:

After boycotting the 2010 state trip, a fully rested Western Ireland to knock off Onkas by 1-5 who will take time to change their recent game plan as they are missing Gabe and also Matt "Chazz Brownlow" Whitford due to long term injury. Here's hoping Onkas build their new game plan around Snoop Dog O'Hara... and heres hoping he brings some hoes down to St Marys!

Very interested to see how Port Districts go in round 1. Any Gaelic experience out there? I recall on the Taints Mad Monday this year ending up at the Pier in the smelly Taints top, and bumping into a bloke who played footy out at Port Districts who boasted of making the State Gaelic Minors All Australian team a few years back. They might be a suprise packet? Tho i will go with Mitcham by 1-5, simply coz they have a Gaelic season under their belts.

With the Taints team manager still galavanting around NZ, it will be interesting to see what sort of St Brendans team (if any) turns up on Sunday... tho saying that i will back in the Taints to win by 16+... tho if Irish's Matt Doecke has a day out expect the score to remain 0-0 as Doecke's wins 1on1 contest after 1on1 contest.

I will tip Flinders by 1-5 to defeat Na Fianna, purely on Neville's posts saying they have recruited strongly - and because its early on in the season.

Good luck to all! Especially to Matt Doecke, he is a gun...

I have not seen this much Doecke Love since Eddie Murphy invented the OaKey Doeckey shuffle :)
I noticed that someone has tipped a draw. Firstly let me say that neither Gerry or Mini Gerry are the ref for that game so that outcome is highly unlikely. However in the interest of fairness i have decided to make tipping the draw worth 2 points.
I heard a rumour that Clint O Hara was constantly carrying an umbrella with him at the Nationals in New Zealand. When asked why he always had the umbrella his reply was "Fo Drizzle!"

I haven't heard rumours of any irishmen heading to WI, I have heard from Mr Advanced hair D Flo that they have some new amatuer footy players coming out.
Guess all will be revealed after round 1

Yes well it sounds like it will be an interesting first week of the season. While the draw may have taken a while to come out it certainly has pitted up some mouth watering clashes.

Mitcham v Port Districts; With the return to gaelic of the prodigal son Tommy Greenshields after a few interrupted years would expect Mitcham to have the experience to get over the new Ports team. By all accounts young Tommy had a great carnival in NZ and if his organisational skills are anything like his better half then the Hawks are home. Port Districts will come out running but even with the pace of some of the boys like Toastie Clay and the smarts of their man in charge the round ball may take some time to get use to. The spiritual leader to lead the hawks home by 5 points.

NaFianna v Flinders; Big question on everyone lips is has the Milk man recovered. Rumour has it he had an extreme case of sunburn after playing two games on the one day over in NZ and forgetting the extra slip slop slap. Was rested in the next game to recover. Sounds like the forward line of Jolly and Timmy Javor will be ready to rumble and with the man with just a touch of white line fever in Delvins holding up the back line they should be tough to beat this week. Having said that Flinders boys always start well and with the mild mannered Jeremy Thorn running things will give a good account for themselves. If the rumors are correct the boys have recruited well and with this in mind im on the Flinders band wagon by 3 points.

Saint Brendans v Irish; Forget the draw and all that, Irish have trouble getting the ball let alone over the bar. They will need to have improved a hell of a lot to get within 10 points of the early premiership favourites. The return of the "The Godfather" Milson will add half a dozen points alone to the side form last year and if the SOG's (Sons of Gino) stay on the park longer than their old mans on his two trips to NZ then its how much. Hopefully the Irish lads have been able to recruit some of the up and coming minors and will be able to get some game time into the group and put up a spirited fight but with the Zeus "the body" and the phantom cruising around up forward would expect Saints by 13 points. The good Bevan to rub salt into the wounds and kick a couple points.

WI v Onka's; This was billed as game of the round and probably still is. A real big out with Whitto joining Gabe on the sidelines but probably gives everyone the chance to see Wado step up again and dominant. Real interest will be in whether "the Dawg" brings out the "golden jacket" and the hussies. If so expect the "real" Stevo and Milko to also be out. Bit of extra pressure on Janetzki to perform this year and carry the attack. WI on the other hand have just been quietly building for this year. The Flo's have been casually courting together half dozen Div1 football palyers so will be up and running early. Throw in big Rossco after another big year being one of the blue chip Barossa league players and we have a ball game. WI to get over the line by 4 points.

Let the games begin...
