I love my river fishing.Anyone caught anything in the Murray? Every year I hear excuses why people don't (eg, water flows, temperature). Anyone got any yabbies, callop or Cod lately. I fish the Darling river, never come home without fish and yabbies, all year round,,no matter the flows or temp.

I work up there regularly (around either Berri or Walkers Flat regions) and try and get a fish in at least 2-3 times per week for an hour or so. Using live shrimp for bait we've been getting our 4-5 callop each night, though most of them are undersize and we've been getting quite a few nice catties which are great fun right on sunset. We havent done all that well with the yabbies this year although we have been able to get a feed most weeks. Catching big black ones from the deeper water in the main river channel.

Heaps of squid there. If there are too many people on the jetty go off the rocks but be careful of the seals.

not to bad there, first time I had really fished the jetty there, normally go to rapid bay.

Question for people.
What squid jag do you prefer? I used to just use whatever, but was using a cheap one at second valley and kept getting it stuck in weed and eventually lost it. Changed it to a yozuri and didnt have a problem with it for rest of the day and it was what I caught all the squid on.

So what do people prefer?
Cheap or expensive? do you think it makes a different?
What colour aswell??

Tuna absolutely everywhere over here. Those familiar with Pt Sir Isaacs, you don't have to venture far from here some days. Greenly Island etc a certainty

My brother inlaw got a heap of tuna last week off of Cannon Reef. Must have got too much because he sent some over to me on Monday as he can't store it all!
Might have a bit of a cookup Saturday night Donkey. ;)
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
