Swooper, Major Gun (and i suppose even MBK if we need some filler) feel free to write up some reviews of the teams performances and best players, and they can also be added to the website.

Choice bro!

The key stat that i heard about the trip is that Coach Fay was shadowed and tagged by a very special ManFriend

That could be true, but unfortunately you will never get the full value of all the stories like the manfriend story, how CT accidently placed all the stuff in his suitcase in his quiltcover & the cult hero Clint "Snoop Dawg" O'Hara

They play Callington in a trial this week so we will see how they go

In reference to Wristwatcher lets just make this is a Sunday comp, find another venue and get on with it

Archy Yee. I know what you did last summer! Good to see you back in the posting mix but with a new identity. Will you pull on the boots this Summer?
Just wanna clarify your WW refrence, so is what your saying....
We play all games on a Sunday???
Im not sure why we would need another venue to do this. I often ref the first game on a Sunday and there is nothing on at Gaelic Park before that first game except for the dynamic duo of Steve and Mudgey setting up.
Its an interseting point as we could fit all games in on a Sunday!!!

You would not need too start until 12 and you would only get the 12pm game once every 7 weeks.
Maybe AY should put forward a motion to the commitee. Would be interesting to see how the rest of the association feels about the idea. I could go either way.....On that idea BTW

Yep have never understood the Friday night thing..would reckon the bulk of the forfeits would happen on a Friday night

When trying to recruit new players the Friday night thing often turns players into fill ins very bloody quickly...Hence you forfeit or field 11

Having said that I don't believe the 7 a side comp is actually achieving anything these days..so maybe encouraging all teams/clubs to play sState league and run a two division comp over Wednesday and Sunday nights might work..

Bulk of the state team come from St B, NaF, Onk, WI and Flinders anyway so let them smash the shite out of each other on a weekly basis, eliminate the dud games and better prepare the state players before they even commence training..

We may be the State League but not all sides have league footballers

Amen

Really Looking forward to the New Season starting next week. I also would like to extend an open invitation to anyone who thinks thay can out tip the greatest Gaelic mind ever known. Unfortunately he is not available but ill happily buy beers to anyone who can out tip me in Mens Football.
ROUND 1
ONK v WI...How do you cover the losses of Gabe,Whitto,Tyson and Janetskis body hair. Its not a final so you wouldnt expect the Goats to lose. ;) I expect the "game of the round" to be won by WI 1-5

MITCHAM v PORT...Port are a Div 1 team (were). They i believe will be lead by SAAFL State wingman Stevey Ray Clay. I think this game will be of a high standard for the 2 newest teams with the shots for points and goals the most important influencing factor in the end. Both teams will be super keen in Round 1 but im going with Port 1-5

ST.B V IRISH A....Premiers v Spooners. I hope IA have had a busy off season and trade week. The Saints are traditionally slow starters. Slower than an athsmatic ant towing a trailer but with several players returning from the Nationals this year one would suspect they will have to much class in this affair. Saints 11-15

NA F v FON.....As reported on this thread earlier Flinders have 811 new players and are ready for season 2010/11. The Fay/Javor win/loss/draw ratio for the last 20 years stands v Flinders at 39-2-1. We will busting our humps for that elusive 40th win on Sunday ;) But seriously...this is the toughest game to pick for the round. The key match up may well be elusive Flinders Fwd Tom "Teena Arena" Stirling V Tom "Bacon Fingers" Duurland. I gotta go with the Warriors over the Reds in a close one by 1-5. :D

Im up for the challenge.....my tips are:

WI 6-10
ST B 6-10
MITCH 1-5
FON 1-5

Will you keep a running total wristy?

Sure will Nev. Bonus point if you get all 4 teams with their margins. Just wanted to point out the margin brackets are 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 AND 16+. Oh its on MR Bartoss. Based on the contributors of this site id like to think we could get at least one person from 6 of the teams and im sure MBK will be keen to contribute his titty wips :o Oops i mean witty tips ;) ...I guess if i have a shocker of a year in the tips Hannigan Cup Final Day could be an expensive day.

Mountain Goats to win just few key outs this week for the goats thou. Goats by 1-5
Mitcham Vs Port mitcham to win just on experience and dont no who the port side will have. hawks 1-5
The cup holders to smash the spoon holders. 11-15
The black and Green gav, matty, kenny and javior machine to start off with a loss with FLinders winning by 1-5
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Had a quick peep at the O'Neils Crystal Ball last night and saw this:

W.I 1-5 over Onkas

The goats to get up in a close entertaining matchup with Onkas. Looking forward to seeing how Whitto goes with the magnets.

Mitcham 6-10 over Port Districts

Mitcham looked like they were starting to come good at the end of last year. Addition of Tommy Greenshields will be a big boost. Will be the big improvers of 2010-11. Will we see Fergal at all this year??

St B 6-10 over Irish Australians.

The Taints to get up but in a lot closer match then most predict. Taints are notorious slow starters and Irish Australians do have the Gaelic equivalent of Chuck Norris in Matt Doecke. Should be a good game.

Na Fianna 1-5 over F'ON

Match of the Round. Expecting a fiesty close clash in this one. Always interested to see what Flinders put out on the park. Nevertheless the well drilled Fins should be prepared just enough to get up. Expecting plenty of cards to be shown in this one.
