IMO. Lance is in the same category as Ben Johnson. Both felt they had to do it because everyone else was. The only difference is lance has raised millions and millions of dollars.

Armstrong biggest issue was he always claimed innocence and repeatedly sued people who claimed otherwise.

Also playing with the public heart strings despite being an out and out cheat doesn't sit to well with most.

Its funny that people think Livestrong raise money for cancer research. They dont. The money goes to cancer "awareness". Which is pretty much just advertising the Livestrong organisation, and Lance Armstrong.

That's a tad harsh.

Regardless of his brain explosions in the cycling world, his work in the cancer arena cannot be faulted.

biggest drug cheat of all time...should take every penny off him and everything he owns what he made from the sport....he deserves nothing...let him suffer like what he done to his team mates...

He did what he was paid to do in Adelaide.

The eyes of the cycling world were here and it created a lot of interest.

He charmed everyone on his training rides and gave his time generously.

Regardless of his cycling flaws, Adelaide got the publicity and recognition it needed for the event to grow.

For mine, he owes us nothing.

i agree with they way it has grown yes....but lied on oath when he went to court....also the bullying he did and destroyed other careers he should get what he deserves...we payed alot of $$$ to get him here but he was a down right cheat...should pay back every cent he conned out of us and everyone else..!!!

An appearing fee is different from prize money.

By all means, try to male him return prize money if it was obtained through illegal doping, but appearance fees are completely different.

Regardless of how he got his status in cycling before he was disgraced, at the time of the TDUs that he attended, he gave the state value for money.

He has already paid a heavy and just price for his indiscretions ... should we penalise him further?

I don't see the SA gov willing to give up all the money that was earned through him coming to SA, all the extra visitors spending their cash to see him.

I don't see Nike willing to give back all profits earned through Livestrong.

is the local deli on the esplanade in Aldinga Beach going to go and give the $11.80 back to the person that bought a hot dog and a can of coke while they were here from Toowoomba to watch Lance? No.

all PRIZE MONEY he has won, yes, i agree that should be paid back.

APPERANCE FEES he's got over the years, no, coz chances are the reason he was given an apperance fee is because organisers were using him as a promotional tool, and he was quite a good one, so they got their monies worth.

Lance can't keep out of the news at the minute. This time it is for race fixing!
