They wouldnt beat a minor league side at the moment.
Cant score, cant defend, they just look like a beaten team before they have started.
Maybe its our new plan, try something differant by limping into playoffs and then win it. Hasnt worked when we go in as top seeds

Looks like the form slump in Washington has got to management - coach Bruce Boudreau has been sacked and replaced by Dale Hunter.

About time.
Boudreau has made some ordinary decisions lately and he was at loggerheads with Ovechkin, even getting to the point where he was benching him for long periods. Losing Mike Green early hasnt helped but our defence hasnt gelled and our goal tending is woeful.
We will see how the players react against St Louis

By all reports it was a lot better defense effort today. Its going to take a few weeks for a new coach to implement changes so we will have to wait and see
