Probably the one true world class sporting event we host in this state.

Great to see some of the guns of the sport here to ply their trade: O'Grady, Valverde*, Miller, Pettachi, Boassen-Hagen, Gerrans, Griepel etc

Driving down West Terrace this afternoon spotted the Euskaltel Euskadi team out for a training ride.

Looking forward to hanging out at "the village" one day next week.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Just finished reading Cadel Evans' book and I wouldn't even bother mentioning his name. He is forever going to clawing back the respect he has lost and probably won't ever regain it in his remaining sporting life

Will be setting up camp down at McLaren/Willunga for the Saturday (21st) stage.

Is that the stage that regular Joe's can ride? Any SAFooty'ers giving it a crack*?

Sorry to be the sour pus, but I hate it, I happen to live on top of a road in the Hills they all use for training each day. Some days I cannot get out, or get in my drive for 10 minutes not one would stop their drive to the top of the mountain to let me in.

Why don't they just race, why do they have to find the hardest road to practice on before and after? :?

I then have to follow them 5 abreast for 5 km to get to the freeway.
I am so glad they do not let them on the freeway.
By the end of week two I am tempted to take out the truck and just drive!

Dutchy I can just cope with you on our skinny roads. ;)

What do people think of the green edge jersey??

Personally I think they could have and should have done a lot better with their design.

The least you can do, its hard enough for fat bastards like myself to get into lycra let alone have to deal with motorists! :D

I must admit that since Ive gotten into cycling I can believe how some groups ride more than 2 abreast. Personally I stay as far left as possible, while some cyclists advocate staying in the middle of the road as they think it is safer to make cars go right around them and not squeeze past. Personally Id rather get side swiped than get hit full on from behind.

And yes Im attempting the 138kms of the TDU, going to be brutal and Im not real confident.

where have you seen the final design? i thought the design they wore at road nats was not the official one, and the the official will be worn for the first time at TDU.

The GreenEDGE cycling team has advised that Jack Bobridge will not be riding the Santos Tour Down Under. Today's scans did not reveal any fractures but as a precautionary measure and to ensure a quick recovery, the team has decided to withdraw him from the race.

They can pick one of the other 30 riders they have on contracts now. Hopefully they put Luke Durbridge in. Great ride for Team UniSA last year and will be very good for Gerrans with his attack. He could also have a shot at taking out the sprinters classification.
