he is german, so it could be possible but he attended Baylor University in Waco Texas and his profile says that his parents are Joerg and Ulrike Becker from Orscholz in Germany

Scud knocked out in 2nd round. Raphael Nadal taken to within 2 points of losing his 2nd round match, before going through in 5 sets.
Just watching Hewitt. He lost the 1st set and then won the 2nd, before being down 3 set points in the 3rd set tie break. He then won 5 points in a row to take 2-1 lead Vs Chink Lee.

Noticed that Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka is considered a real long shot to beat Mario Ancic at Wimbledon and I'm not sure why as Wawrinka is a real hot prospect and I'm sure Ancic won't be taking this one lightly. Would be one of the best $6 bets in a two horse race that you would see.

I hear that there's going to be a new Russian tennis beauty going on the circuit soon. Her name is Maria Bendova. She goes commando every day, even when she plays tennis and has a short dress.    8) 8)

At the risk of being jumped all over (I can only hope  ) by the female posters on this forum, the pay difference issue between the men and the women, which is less than 5 percent, is starting to wear a little thin. Per minute spent on court they already earn far more than the men and this would still be the case even if women's matches were made best of 5 sets due to the lack of depth on the women's tour.
Another way to prove that they are not getting a raw deal would be to play the men's and women's wimbledons as stand alone tournaments. Within a few years there wouldn't even be enough sponsorship and television money to pay the women what they are getting now.

Dunno, I'd rather watch Maria Sharapova for 5 minutes than Hewitt for 5 hours!

Justine, Justine, Justine...

Just when I thought Mauresmo was going to buckle, Henin-Hardenne blows a golden opportunity to break back.

Instead Mauresmo serves out the set and goes on to take the match.

Looking forward to the Men's final: Federer v Nadal.

Federer looking to re-assert his authority after his French Open loss to Nadal.

Gut feeling tells me that Federer will blow the young Spaniard out of the water.

Shades of McEnroe v Connors, 1984, perhaps, when Johhny Mac was hell-bent on atoning for his upset loss to Jimbo in the 1982 Wimbledon final.

McEnroe murdered Connors in '84 in one of the most lop-sided contests in a grand slam final.

well grass is where Federrer has dominated and clay is Nadal's fortress so this is Federrers chance to atone the french open. I dont think it will be that one sided and i think nadal can take a set or 2 off federrer.

have to remember that Nadal isnt scared of Federrer as other opponents may be.

If Nadal wins, I think that he'll be close to being No.1 in the world.
