Was down Outer Harbour today for work and pulled into where the Torrens Arm Markets are at the wharf there for a break...

Watched a guy for about 45 minutes wrestle with the biggest bloody stingray I have ever seen in my life...

The guy got it to the surface a couple of times, then it would dive down to the bottom again.

The monster had 2 big barbs on it and at one stage they almost reeled it up, trying to hook it with a couple of bug anchor hooks.

It would have been 4 metres across its wings and 2 or 3 metres long from tip to tail.

Just as he was winning the battle and about to get it up, his bloody rod snapped clean in half and away it swam, it was amazing.

As wedgie said Fish Sa
or http://www.strikehook.com

And are you fishing in a boat or landbased(fresh or Saltwater) ?
Landbased West lakes is quiet by all accounts (well it was Sunday  unless you count hundreds of inch long Bream following my fly as fun)

You really want some local fresh water fun try the torrens for Carp.throw in some bread and wait for them to come .Just find a stagnant section with little water movement .Just watch out for snakes!!!

There is a post on one of the two above fishing forums re OH stingrays.
Seems a few guys love chasing the things .I got put off wading in the Port river when a young kid was telling me I was wading in his favourite ray spot .
