Who will be crowned 2005 V8 Supercar Champion ?

Postby Ian » Mon Nov 14, 2005 10:52 pm

With a maximum 192 points up for grabs (for 3 race wins), who will win the championship.
For a Holden to win, all of Ingall, Lowndes & Ambrose would have to have 3 DNF's, so it looks like it will be a FORD, FORD or a FORD :D
Lowndes has always been good at Phillip Island, so he's my tip to take it out, but I would love to see Rusty win the title.
The current top 6 is;

1 Russell Ingall 1,754
2 Craig Lowndes 1,705
3 Marcos Ambrose 1,668
4 Todd Kelly 1,632
5 Mark Skaife 1,622
6 Steven Richards 1,601

Points available for each of the 3 races are;

1st, 64
2nd, 62
3rd, 60
4th, 58
5th, 56
6th, 54
7th, 52
8th, 50

and so on and so on down to 2 points for 32nd position.

Go Lowndes, Ingall 2nd again.
on 2nd thought, all 3 leading fords to take each other out in practice, and Todd Kelly to win everything on the weekend. :lol:

Im hoping for Rusty but Lowndes is a lot quicker at the moment and Rusty's playing it safe.
Holdens no chance, Ambrose a long shot.

I think Lowndes is due for his usual Bad Luck Weekend? Ingall with Stone Brothers professionalism will tell him every move and keep his nerves in check so he wins it. Holden knows it and will put the extra effort and planning to get the red team across the line so they finish 2 - 3 in the championship, either order so that they are in the papers monday after the event..? I think the General isn't doing that well in sales..? Never heard of every member of the public able to get staff discount before..? Ambrose's mind is in Nascar...? We hope he's a champ in that also..! Fly the flag Marcos..!

I'm NOT a Ford man, but I had to choose...Lowndes would be my preference. Just as long as Ambrose or Skaife don't win it I'm happy.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?
