So I started with a fly I had bought and insect/crab pattern in a green colour. After a couple of casts I knew I would need to change it as there were no fish following it or taking it.
With a change in fly I moved up the beach and started having trouble casting, more on that latter. So I put on a fly with a green chenille head and a faux fur tail in pink. And with trouble casting I was bringing in a bad cast when suddenly I was on.But it was off just as quick.
Moving further along the beach with no more action I changed to a Gurgler as the small bream were surface feeding. With no luck I changed to a fly with a green chenille head and fuax fur green tail, after noticing the small fish were attacking the green head of the other fly.
With nothing happening I had walked back to my starting point and cast out .Normally I count 10 and two quick strips, this time I went to sleep and was upto 30 .When I had the fly taken off the bottom with a nice short bite, and lost just as quick.
So cursing my luck I walked to the left side of the lake .Talking with some SP guys I heard it wasn't busy fish wise. With the magic 9 am fast approaching and on my third cast in a new area.Bang I was on and this time he was well hooked left and right it swam a small 20 cm bream

I did measure him but he wouldn't stay still for another pic.
So back in he went and i cast out again with a hook up straight away and lost him as well.
And that was the end of my fishing 2 and 1/2 hours in a great Adelaide morning
Cheers
