Final race finished:
1st Todd Kelly
2nd Whincup
3rd Lowndes
4th Tander

The new V8 supercar champion is Garth Tander by a couple of points by my reckoning.
Well deserved and great to see a fair final round despite Team 888 having many chances to do the same as Rick Kelly last year but good sportsmanship prevailed.
A great year of V8 racing, bring on next year! :D

First time in a few years that the best driver has actually won the championship.

While i am a Ford fan, didnt mind seeing Tander win it, he races hard and doesnt make excuses.

I thought Whincup did a great job, really held his nerve. Those last few laps were great racing, that sort of stuff will keep fans interested.

Only 'dodgy' thing of the weekend was Skaife's 'sudden' loss of pace in race 1, which allowed Tander to pass him. :-k

Very dodgy when the championship winner announces that the driver who he passed will be his new boss next season.................................
